That is a great card also i agree cant go wrong with either one
Oh Gainward is owned by Palit i believe.
Yep, even their 1080 models mirror themselves in coolers, frequencies and prices (before the £ fall).

I've ordered a second MSi Gaming to SLi my existing. I'm skipping Pascal and the current price tempted me. SLi Ti's should keep !e gaming happily for the next year or so.
No, my plan was and is to skip this gen. I only went for SLi due to the price being acceptable to I and it's my birthday today - i thought sod it
Is\was it the right way to go - no idea. At least I know that if supported in game, Sli 980 Ti's will own it.
That's fair enough then Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your sweet purchase lol

There's this dilemma still in my head guys ......
Should I keep Asus 980Ti strix in SLI with waterblocks or go and get 1080 with a waterblock ?
Price-wise=the same.
Performance-wise=I would expect "up to" 50% more performance out of 980Ti SLI.
1. Not sure how 980Ti will perform under DX12 titles
2. Not gonna change graphics cards in 1-2years time
3. Not sure about SLI support
4. I play in 1440p so ....not sure if 1080 can get close to 100fps+
5. These asus strix 980Ti cards are voltage locked to 1.21V so watercooling may not be really worth it
6. 1080 is voltage locked too so.....beh...
What to do lol...
Hold on to what you got. Can't see the 980Ti comming down in price much more now even when Vega and big pascal come out. The 1080s will more likely come down in price though. Personally id hold out for big pascal as that should offer some good performance!
Well the point is, I can buy 980Ti sli or 1080 now ....
I moved from red team to green team, running 750Ti for now
Not sure what to buy ...
I have a 970 in my rig at the moment and looking to upgrade, the prices of the 980ti are really tempting and quite the performance boost aswell.
If you guys had the choice though would you get a 980ti or wait a bit longer to grab a 1070?
Thanks!
Just the out of the box clock speeds, but there's a huge gulf there with the cheaper model being clocked at stock speeds. It could well be that those ones are essentially "failed" OC models that couldn't manage the 216MHz overclock and as such were repurposed with reference clocks. Or looking at it optimistically, it might just be a BIOS flash/ten seconds in Afterburner away from being the OC model. Guess nobody will know until they buy one and find out.looking at the Strix, guys what's the difference between the £359 model and the £429 model? I'm guessing just clock speeds? cheers

Personally, I'd be all over the Super Jetstream for the same money instead. I had one for a while and it's a great card. The quietest I've ever owned alongside Palit's 980 that uses the same cooler.
