So would I see a big enough improvement over my faithful 8800GTX..
Thats kinda like a troll post, but seriously the 8800GTX was the mutts nuts when I got it, And it felt like a massive step up.
Obviously I don't change my cards that often so would I get a decent amount of life out of one
One of members posted these elsewhere. It's not me.
I think he currently has the fastest PC on the planet.

Fair play..
Looking at your sig and crossfire 7970s (250w per card, 300w if GHz) you should be fine.
A good 850-1000W should do the job. I would lean towards a 1KW.
Titan X is 250w TDP and benches show ~508w to run 2 in SLI non OCed.
From Guru 3D Review :
System in IDLE = 90 Watts
System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 334 Watts
Difference (GPU load) = 244 Watts
Add average IDLE wattage ~10 Watts
Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 254 Watts
I can't belive Neil's willpower![]()

+1me either come to the darkside Neil!!!
Look what I found... (Kaapstad I think this should be added)
In COD:AW and Crysis 3 the Titan X OCed is running circles around both GTX970 SLI and GTX980 SLI @ 4K.
Amazing![]()
JUST STOP IT![]()
Wow!!! and that game ran seriously well on my old Titans but not so on my 290X
Just look at those frames for the X.... Neil, look![]()

Bloody hell just ordered a Gigabyte example. I'm diseased. Lol
Go watch the Digital Foundry 4K video on youtube to ease the pain(not allowed to link here for some reason)
The games shown by digital foundry have audible swearies in them unfortunately. Extremely impressive performance for the TX in that video though.
