The Hangover Thread

Sleep is an important factor I find, midday start and bed by 11pm results in a much better following day than 5pm start and 3am finish.

Following morning needs to be food ASAP, before you think about it too much. Caffeine, some sort of sugar, paracetamol if needed and as much hydration as you can get down your neck.

Drinking on an empty stomach (according to a TV show I saw) causes the alcohol to enter the blood quicker as the stomach does not 'close' to process liquid, but it does for food. So if you eat, or start to eat something before you start drinking the stomach closes off to process the food. This means the alcohol doesn't enter the blood as quick. Apparently :)

I don't drink but last night I went to town and knocked back a six pack of Heineken 0.0. So yeah, no hangover here. Did have to get up in the middle of the night to siphon the old python though.

Been bad today. Around 3 litres of home brew cider plus 4 Westons Vintage and the whisky seems to have gone down as well. Dread to look in the freezer at the vodka levels. Just at home with the missus dancing all night till 2am.

Anyway, the best hangover alleviant after years of testing is an Alka Seltzer XS dumped in a pint of water with a hydration tablet.

Also forgot I had a stash of https://catapultcat.com/en/catapult-cat/ which are the best I have tried to stop a hangover forming. Going on a sabbatical from Sunday for a month.

Better get back to finish the box of home brew.

Respect!

Same as us but we also managed to make a video to send to my nephew who lives in France. He loves the Rocky films so luckily we had most of the props knocking around (boxing gloves, dressing gown etc) and obviously Eye of The Tiger banging out. It was so much fun, hilarious and the wife looked very hot as a Ring Girl. This all seemed like a great idea around 3 hrs into our boozy session which is usually about when we turn back into teenagers lol.

Crazy, crazy night and in total contrast to this evening

0 for me but still VERY tired. Only drank 0.25 bottle of wine.

Gonna make a bacon & egg sarni, go grab a Starbucks to get some fresh air, then do a workout (hopefully) then I should be feeling normal again.

My first sober Fri night in a long time due to the mood hangover I reported last post, planning to try a low alcohol wine next week as I can't do a glass has to be a bottle (aldi doing a featherweight 5.5 abv?) ended up getting up 4.45am then back to bed at 6am for a snooze and vivid dreams.
I always tell myself I deserve a drink but now I'm thinking I don't deserve how it makes me feel

Not officially ‘low alcohol’ but there’s an amazing 9% one we often drink - Brancott Estate Flight white wine. We usually pick it up at Sainsbury’s. I believe it’s about £8 a bottle. I highly recommend it.

Reds my usual tipple but always up for trying new things 9% is better than than the 14.5 % I am downing at the moment although been trying different ones in £6 ish range but always over 13.5% , worryingly I read that more than the flavour profile

Lovely bath last night with Epsom Salts, good soak straight into bed. Up this morning workout then popped into the fishmongers for breakfast kippers and a nice bass for dinner. Feel great :D
