I love this thread, but I think it should be like the random image thread where you have to post a picture from the game your playing or don't post at all, no offence but I get sad returning here and not seeing new pics :(

:)

I think people should have to put the name of the game in the title.

And 3 picture limit per post. Sick of pages with like 50 images and u have to wait for all to load to see new ones :P

Well, there's no rules on the first post, and it does say "The High-Res Screenshot Thread!" can't please everyone. ¬_¬

Some moan when there's too little. Some moan when there's too much. *faints*

I think if everyone posts 3 screenshots max per post its fine :P, i would prefer every post contained atleast one though but you can't force that or else there wouldnt be much discussion sometimes.

post as many as you want within reason, I love looking at them all, as for not having a title I don't understand why people omit this information, anyway ill get up on my high horse once I start contributing here.

Admittedly it's annoying when the new pictures you're expecting are toward the bottom of a page and you have to scroll past the 30-odd pictures you're already seen just to realise the latest post is something like this - discussion and no picture.

But given the inherent layout of a forum page, there's no other way.

UNLESS, the mouseover on the thread title can be programmed to display the last post, rather than the first? If the mouseover displays a few .jpg/.bmps then you know you've got some new juicy hires (probably Crysis 2) goodness to look at!

I also don't see the need for restrictive and needlessly complicated rules. If you have a shot you'd like to show, post it. If someone else wishes to apply rules and regs to their own posting habits (but no one elses), fine, fair enough I say. :)

Posting the name of the game is neither restrictive nor complicated. It's far less complicated than the process of taking, upoading and linking the images on here in the first place.

Three extra seconds writing the game name for someone's post that probably took a minute or so to sort out, and everything would be fine and dandy.

What's an image without context or meaning?

Wouldn't it be better to run the monitors in portrait mode, for a resolution of 3240x1280 rather than 5760x1080? triple monitor landscape looks incredibly strange with 1080px high monitors :p

Not sure what you mean, the BenQ's I have dont swivel to do portrait mode.

The stretching you get at the 5760x1080 is down to the programming on the game, some games are terrible for it (L4D, WoT isnt great), whereas others have no stretching at all (Dead Space, Crysis)

You get used to it though either way, as tbh the side screens are just for peripheral vision anyway

@The Centurion lemme guess - down-sampled from some insane resolution in order to look pretty but none of us here are going to be able to play the game looking anything like that as the shots are post-processed.

Ah.. I don't think FrenchTart's did either, but he just ripped the stands and bezzles off and ghetto'd them to portrait :p

Certainly looks better in portrait imo.. Simply for the increase in vertical real estate if nothing else :)
