The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

Yeah really wanna get portal 2 dont have the money for it right now though :(

Played a bit of Fary Cry 2. I can never take screenshots at the right time so the shots I do take are boring.

Do what i do, if you use fraps get it taking screenshots every 30 seconds or so then just pick out the best ones :) you get some really good action shots as well as some naff ones :P

Yeh, buy Portal 2

Here's a few mroe of the shadows looking great. The water is also the best since Unreal. I stopped and looked at it and actually thought it looked like real! The last shot below looked the best, really need to see it in motion though

I was pondering wether to re-download it on Steam, as I picked it up in a chrimbo sale.

One of the most beautifully designed games yet.

I'd agree but it becomes rather ludicrous towards the end. I'm all for the odd enemy you have to incapacitate because he's in your way but it becomes a bloody FPS later on. The general concept of the game is great though.

Fallout 3 and new vegas would have be much better games on a better engine, i can only dream on fallout on cryengine lol. finger crossed for skyrim

I went and had a look at the Fallout 3 screenshots I've got and sure enough none of them are great. But the game does look great when played. Unfortunately a screenshot shows only a fraction of the real visual impact of a game. The swaying of grass and plants in the wind, the moving of clouds and lighting changes that occur through time-of-day cycles cannot be conveyed in a screenshot.

Very true.

Its hard to care about grass. In Fallout theres not so much and in Oblivion I have grass view distance set to 0 because a) it looks completely over the top sometimes, b) its a SERIOUS drain on your system and c) you can't find enemy corpses in it.
