I'm shocked, I was very interested and was about to order Skyrim until I had seen these shots...

theink they stick a protecttive film over it, when the scrathes get too many they peel it of and stick a new one on. think raf and every other airforce does this. not 100% sure tho but i remeber watching some docu about the tornadoes and they put the film on with a heat gun
 
To be honest, if someone is going to not buy Skyrim on the basis that the graphics dont look good enough, then imo thats the very definition of cutting your nose off to spite your face. What makes Skyrim the fantastic game it is, is the game itself, not its appearance. Phenomenal graphics are all very good and well, but if I want to look at something that looks incredible I will go to an art gallery, if I want to actually play a game then Skyrim is one of the first I load up :)

This. Skyrim looks fantastic. Just because it maybe isn't as good as it was hyped up to be (as is always the case now with PC games) doesn't mean it isn't worth playing.
