The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

bioshock looks like a dishonoured clone to me ( totally overhyped ) graphically looks like a 10y old game before they progressed to high res textures.

ok on an xbox / ps3 but no reason to buy it on a pc nice easy port for them.

Its an art style. Dont mistake an art style for bad graphics

Its gorgeous especially on pc

Im confused by this its in no way like dishonored?

Edit* they are both first person hold on, you may be onto something here how did we all miss this

An art style is occasionally hard to enjoy without actually experiencing it. For example Borderlands never really shone for me in screenshots until you actually play through it. Bioshock isn't cell shaded to the same cartoony extent, but it's certainly a stylised rather than photorealistic game, and that's fine by me. It's not meant to be taken as real, it's meant to be taken as fantasy and a competent art direction (which Infinite has in spades) is a nice medium through which to channel that.

Games like Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands will still look really good in 5 years, whereas even the venerable Crysis will start to age after a while. That's why games like Worms and Cel Damage (which I maintain is the best video game ever made) still look awesome while old top titles like Far Cry or the early Cod and MOH games look almost unplayably old.

so graphically compared to say crysis 3 the model textures etc look better is that what your saying ?
I have not played Crysis 3.

I see where you're coming from but comparing Bioshock Infinite to games from 2003 is just madness.

And one of my favourite screens from Infinite so far:

Correct! :D

Went in, had a look at all the empty Whiskey bottles and scantily clad women, though to myself 'who the hell could reside in a place like this?'. Lo behold, a Russian!

Ran out and carried on with the main quest line but I need to come back there when i'm not occupied to check it out. :p
