@Firegod Those last 3 shots are giving me 3D Mark 2001 vibes. :D

@JonRGV250 That was the reason I went with MotoGP 2021. The physics aspect seems to be highly praised in MotoGP 2021 and tracks over Ride 4.

Oh god yes! The "nature" test - hah I'd forgotten about that. :D

That demo still gives me chills. I used to remember back in the GeForce 3 days, imagine one day games look as good as that nature scene. Yet here we are, it has been surpassed.

It intends to be a massive all encompassing universe, reality right now... its very in Alpha, it has bugs, it needs more work, a lot of content still to come... but yeah... good looking game and to me like nothing else.

Player made Video. with suitably cheesy ending.

Is there much of a game there yet? Seems it will never actually arrive.

That's really difficult to answer, i want to say yes and no because it depends on how you would personally define that, many people would argue no, and yet it has just as much playable content as Elite Dangerous Odyssey, which is perhaps a bad example given that game is a flop.... and yet its player base had a mass exidous of it on the release of the Odyssey expansion, while they went to several other places most of them ended up in Star Citizen and are very happy in their new home.

Personally what i really want to say is yes, i have thousands of hours in it and my enthusiasm for it now is just as strong as its always been, i play it a lot.

However... i don't think there is 'a lot' to do, but there is also far more than nothing to do, it can also be incredibly frustrating, it is sometimes quite broken, and yet i keep going back to it, so do thousands up on thousands of others despite their frustrations.

It has a lot of haters, the vast majority of them have never played it, that's no exaggeration i know a lot of them.

Sorry i know that not that helpful.

If you're asking me should i spend money on it? I'm going to say no, they have free fly events through out the year, sadly one has just ended, but my advice is wait for the next one, try before you buy, if you do don't look at the expensive ships, all you need is the $45 starter pack, everything else can be earned in game, including those expensive ships.

I'll bet Star Citizen really shines on a massive Ultrawide display. Imagine an OLED Ultrawide display with it.

@humbug thanks for that detailed reply. Appreciate it. I want to play it but like so many others, thought it best to wait until it's released. Now, years later we still seem to be no closer but I'm still intrigued.

Actually a nice fun game too but only 2 hours in. Mechanics are simple, motion is smooth, sound is excellent too.
