Star Citizen.

Is there much "game" in Star Citizen yet, or is it still very much flying around an empty (although granted very pretty) galaxy?

Every time I'm tempted to install it again, I remember the last time I played the performance was utterly terrible and there was literally nothing to do.

Its growing all the time, every 3 months there is a major patch adding new content.

The last patch added persistence and salvaging. so if you take on a contract to to kill pirates their ship stays where-ever you destroyed it, even after you log out and log back in again, what that means is you can go back to it later and salvage it, in this case you can use a salvaging ship like the Drake Vulture to strip the outer hull, the materials you strip off the ship is dispensed in to boxes which you can sell for in game money, if you have a friend with a larger ship you don't need to run backwards and forwards between selling and salvaging, you can just transfer the boxed to a larger ship, like we did in the video below.

In the next patch they will add salvaging ship munching, that will enable a salvaging ship to munch the whole ship carcass and turn it in to a sellable commodity.

There is a lot more, too much to list and a lot more to come. Yes its a proper game.
