The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

Don't see the point in upgrading from the M8. As much as I dislike Samsung, the S6E does look good but it'll be too expensive initially for me and i6 speaker copy rather than front facing speakers is sad.

They're not out for review yet...
Pretty much every manufacturer has non-final units at events like this.

Why even show non final units? It generates a whole heap of press, most of which is saying the camera is pap.

We're then meant to trust HTC to fix it before release?

Thanks for that, was going to place a rainforest order later and at £1.99 you can't got wrong, I'm sure I'll end up upgrading to the M9, as much as I like to look of the SG6 curve I can't bear the thought of Touchwiz again, once was enough to put me off it.

You can go wrong at £1.99... It was 99p when he posted the link :p

Cheers for the heads up on the cases...ordered two...you know, just incase ;)

I know there's a lack of OIS again but looking back at some of my pics I took with my M8 they weren't that bad at all! I'll just see how the reviews develop with the "final" devices.

I'm edging...towards the S6 Edge (no pun intended) right now but Sense is just so much nicer and I don't go down the root option so I don't usually change the icons etc.

No idea on the potential release date for the device yet?

Just read the pre-orders go live on the 9th of March ahead of a release on 31st of March...so it will be interesting to see what price we are looking at.

Hopefully HTC are smart about this and aim for £499 although the early prices seen of 749EUR tends to make me think otherwise.

Based on the specs alone this should sell for no more than £349. sorry but I just don't see this as a premium device.

Where is the class leading display? performance? camera?

Where is the class leading display?

It uses a similar (if not the same) display as the M8, which I honestly have not seen a bad review for. I would be willing to bet money that the positive remarks about the screen in reviews heavily outweighs the negative ones. And don't give me the resolution rubbish. The difference above 1080p is negligible on a "normal" phone (i.e. not a phablet).

performance?

The latest Snapdragon isn't quick enough? My M8 with its 801 barely ever has any slowdowns or hiccups, and that's 2 generations old.

It's pretty much typical for a 20mp phone camera sensor. While it's nothing extraodinary, I don't really see any other companies with a similar megapixel count that are much different.

You might wanna back up your claims with some substance. It is very much a premium phone.
