The i7 build has been ordered :D eta 08/01/09

Comes down to personal preference more than anything.

Like you i like the NV panel layout better and had far fewer problems compared to ATi.

However, to contrast this there are thousands of very happy ATi users so it must work well sometimes.

@ harris1986 - sorry some of your kit got held up. :(

Well I don't really care for the layout, I just want to have as many options as possible, I don't like the layout of the new nvidia panel, still prefer the old one they god rid of in the time of the geforce 6 or7 series :p.

Been checking some user and a lot of people seem to prefer ATI's IQ, I don't know though as I haven't tried em myself. However I can't seem to find any reviews showing so, most comparisons look the same to me like here:

Some say nvidia is better like this site:

Edit: Sorry to post this in your thread Harris, is there a thread discussing IQ already on ocuk or not yet ?

Wonderful! :)

Ah - if only i could afford an upgrade!

Does the UD4P's box confirm SLi support? I only ask as this will quite possibly be the board i'll go for if i do manage to get some cash together.

I'll definately be interested in seeing how well that Gigabyte EX58-UD4P performs, as if I some how find the money and decide to go for the i7 that's the board I have my eye on especially as its ~£205, where as the Asus P6T Deluxe is atleast £30 more expensive.

Good to hear its working ok for you, what happened with the memory slot?
And yeah those 260/280's are huge, they're ~11inches long which doesn't seem that big untill you see it in a case.

I'm thinking I'll probably buy a 260 or 280 before I bite the bullet and get an i7 though I had been trying to wait for the next batch of graphics cards.
Decisions, decisions...

lol, well i assumed ram slot 1 was closest to cpu i.e. blue slot in my pic. apparently not lol. Slot 1 is closest to front of case, so I had my ram in slots 2/4/6 which was giving no signal on boot. There were nearly tears, but took 30seconds of reading the manual (should have done it in the first place) and all was sorted :D

No no no, you never read a manual until something doesn't work or break. Its the only way you learn. :D

Haha yeah but when I was stareing at a grands worth of pc and I was getting no signal, I couldn't see the funny side :) comp is lightning fast haven't yet got round to overclocking, only done so far is disable cpueist in bios and set ram timings and disabled qfan/smartfan what ever you want to call it.

Yeah been there after a BIOS update to my P6t, on reboot no monitor signal. There was a Nooooo! louder than Vader in EP3!! Luckily a quick full power down/up sorted it.:D I really should be used to it by now

haha :) it was these reasons that I stayed away from the P6T board, i've heard too much already about cold boot issues/ losing bios settings etc, imo i've always found Gigabyte to be better quality boards with a better laid out bios :)

i recently got a new i7 rig too (check siggy), i find no problems with the P6t, runs like a dream so far... i live in the North of Scotland and its very cold this time of year (obviously, it being winter) and when i boot up my mobo and other components are less than 20 degrees C, no issues at all..

the i7 handles everything ive thrown at it without even so much as breaking a bead of sweat, im so impressed.

cant wait to save up some more cash and start adding to this beastly machine.

anyway, congrats on your new rig... i hope your happy with it!
