I've been playing battlefield ever since the first came out and have played every other release since then.

The most played for me was definitely BF2, I must have played that solid for a good 5-6 years and never got bored of it. Had some epic battles there.

Then came along BC2 which was a new lease of life for me and I really enjoy playing it also.

Obviously I was really looking forward to BF3 being a massive fan and whilst it is my main battlefield game at the moment, I can't help but feel like the 'fun factor' has been sucked out of this release. There are somethings that I like about BF3 (having prone back for one) but it's no way as fun as BC2 or BF2. I find a lot of the maps to be pretty carp, the B2K maps are ok, but nothing like as fun to play as they was in BF2.

Hopefully BC3 will bring back the fun again (whenever it comes out). . .

I'd be interested in peoples opinions.

:)

Pretty much the same here. I found BF3 lacking in so much of the fun that BC2 has. As such, I've dropped BF3 and gone back to BC2, though I play it less than I used to.

BF3 seems to place much more emphasis on camping and moving around slowly. That's fine I guess but it's not what I want from a game. I quite like using WASD now and again.

I know what your saying i find as a game it is way too serious.... how it plays and the people who play it trying to get the best k/d score ect. by sitting on metro with a noob tube or spamming AT ........makes me :(

Purchased on release.

Played for 3 hours and never touched again... I don't know why though it seems like the sort of game I would play constantly. I have a feeling that it is because it's not in my steam library and isn't launched at start up. I should really start playing it again but I am currently played Mass Effect 2 and Arkham City so it will be a while.

Quite enjoying it atm, just got the last sniper, m988b or whatever it's called, quite enjoying it more now. Only have around 40 hours though, and it's my first pc fps. But i still quite like it, but bfbc2 maps were a lot better imo, Why don't you just go play some bfbc2 and some bf3 now and again? I was on bfbc2 a few nights ago and theres still a good few people playing.

BF3 come in to its own when playing with friends or playing in a good squad that play the objective, playing it on your own can be a bad experience and it will get old rather quick. I will only play when may mates and guys I know from my BF2 days are on, guaranteed great squad play this way.

I agree it does not touch the PC exclusive BF2 in terms of depth and maps, can't change that now so we make do with what we got.

Was bored after 2 weeks play, BC2 is much better.

I have not got BC2 installed at the moment, but I will load it on later. Should be interesting to see how the play is as I have only been playing BF3 since it's release. I just miss that good old fashioned 'battlefield fun'.

It's nice to know I'm not alone on this matter ;)

It's the same with every modern FPS isn't it? CoD4, BC2, I got bored of them after 2-4 weeks. I didn't even buy BF3 because I knew it would be the same. Hence why I only play Quake these days :p

I played it for about a week after release. I am not sure I actually had any fun in the game, just spent a week moaning about how COD killed the genre. I did play again for a few hours after back to karkand was released (hoping that larger maps would improve the game) but just didn’t enjoy it at all.

I think it’s a combination of Dice trying to imitate aspects of COD, basing the game on modern technology and modifying the franchise so heavily in favour of the console market.

Im getting bored of FPS in general. I mean some days i will crave to play (like today) while other days seems like same thing over and over!

Though as for BF3 nope, i play it once in while and enjoy it though i may go back to BC2 for a bit :P

I played battlefield 2 for hundreds of hours but battlefield 3 is nothing like the last. It seems to me they have taken out the essence of battlefield out that is teamwork and huge maps. There is just no integrated teamwork options at all. It baffles me how dumbed down the series has become, I wonder what dice employee's or EA were thinking whilst making this.

So disappointing. I havent played it in a month

This really. It is a great game with friends on comms.

I'm bored of the mechanics of bf3, it just seems to be to much like cod to me. Bc2 on the other hand is a lot of fun even if the game play is a lot slower.

For once, I totally agree with you.

The game comes into it's own with friends and comms. I really do enjoy it but only with my mates that played right through BF2 / BC2 with me. Luckily for me there is still a really good core of us. :)

I had first impressions with BC2 when first bought and its been collecting dust ever since. Thats why I said to myself that I wont be buying BF3 at the point of release but wait at least 6 months or so(hopefully plenty of reviews, less bugs, better price etc) and now im not even sure if im ever buying it at all. I must admit that I was a bit negative towards BF2 when it first came out as well because BF:V wasnt that bad imho to get dethroned so quickly but I dont think history will repeat itself.
