The I'm getting bored of BF3 thread

This tbh. I get bored with public servers, but I also play in a competitive clan which really makes a difference. Having your whole team on comms and playing objectives to a plan against another well organised team is really where it comes into its own for me. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have in store with the upcoming DLC.

I got a bit bored of it after the expansion was released, i didn't like the fact that you couldn't mix and match maps from the original game and the expansion, instead you have to choose either original maps or expansion map rotation. I have not played it for a while, and i will probably pick up and play later but atm i cant be bothered.
 
Starting to enjoy it a bit more. Im not a great player by any stretch. But ive got used to the niggles and just try to enjoy it for a bit of fun. When its good it can be fantastic fun.
 
Played it for about 100hrs total and can't find the fun factor, haven't played it since xmas. Yes some games are enjoyable, but it's hugely outweighed by plastic looking weapons and the lack-luster maps. BC2 had a lot cleaner look and sound to it.

Worth noting, one of the ex Battlefield Devs (Gordon Van Dyke) even commented that a certain something was missing from BF3.

And personally Battlelog detracts from the game experience for me. Whereas before I'd load the game to look at my & others stats and would normally go on to play. Now I logon to the site and simply close the browser.

Imo if you play this game too much everyday say for 4 hours on average, then it will get boring pretty soon. At release day, I played it a lot and could notice the fun factor declining as days went on. So for few weeks after I didn't touch it. Now I have been playing it again a lot and it was again enjoyable but now starting to feel the same thing again.

From my experience, this game requires non-play period of 2-3 weeks for the enjoyment to come back, rather than continuous play. I think it is the maps design that get rusty on the player after a while.

Yeah I agree that map design is a major factor in terms of sustaining enjoyment.

Maps such as metro et al get boring very quick.

Damavand map is visually very beautiful looking with mountains in the background and we get a sense of fresh air. Shame that in terms of layout it is pretty much like a hourglass map with tunnel being a major bottleneck and meat grinder in terms of objective advancement.

Visually, BF3 maps are beautiful looking but design wise they lack depth and complexity.
 
Played quite a bit and got bored quicky, also a scaling issue on a 5 series card makes people 1cm smaller at the resolution I play at. Compared to BC2 which is correctly scaled on my machine compared to my friend on a 6970.

The game itself is good though I find I hate the disabled tanks, the prone, the lack of squad play, the ease of just picking a kit and using it for most maps, the weapons being almost the same, the sound seems wrong can't place things as well, that orign and the time it takes to get into server, having to mess with burst settings, the blackend spawn area. The over use of just point and hold trigger seems wrong. Also hate not being able to drop into any server empty and just mess and fly and adjust settings.

In BC2 there seemed more squad play, less camping, way more fun, less complexity of kit, I could also feel I was actually making a difference in the game, but I would like more maps though as this has become a little boring.

I'm not bored of the game, but currently not playing as constantly getting disconnects.

Tried all the common fixes, disabled upnp, port forwarded, etc. But not worked. Seems i'm in the same boat as lots of other people.

Annoying. Fantastic game but looking like a waste of £30 for me and many others.

I actually find that BF3 is almost too arcadey and the maps are too small or something compared to what BF2 was.

BF1942 was and still is, by far the most fun of the lot.
Desert Combat mod was also far harder and far more fun than even BF2 ever was.
Maybe that's the problem, BF3 'feels' too easy?
 
I share the sentiments of others when i say that it just doesnt have that 'fun' factor that bc2 had. I just find myself getting frustrated or bored, cant put my finger on it why. It looks better than bc2 and certain elements play better than bc2, even some of the maps are better, but bc2 just had that 'x factor'.

Dropped fps for the moment and gone to playing Empire Total War again and am having a ball. Its so addictive.

Yes, yes and yes a thousand times. Agree entirely with this post. Squad play is gone and you're right about feeling like you never make a difference in a game.

Oh, forgot about that, being able to spawn on any squad member was/is a bad idea. Only being able to spawn on your squad leader (which made that person important and to be protected) was a better idea. Even that is something that I wouldn't 'really' miss it if they changed it back to BF1942 style. Forces you to work as a squad/team, or you'll have to spend a lot of time running because you tried playing it like CoD.
 
BF3 is GOTY imo. Some of the maps blow, but Metro (on 32-man or less), Kharg, Seine, Damavand (on rush at least) are all great maps. Bazaar and Caspian can be half-decent at times too. The graphics are a large part of what makes this game great. It can be so immersive at times.

The only major qualms I have at the moment are that there's not enough unlockables, not enough guns, too few maps and I don't like how you can't have custom presets like on COD.
 
BF3 sucks compared to bf2 and bc2 it just dont have the charisma of previous bf games,i have over 2000hrs in Bf2,400hrs in Bc2 and 75hrs in BF3 with a KD of 1.6 and WL of 1.88,i got a refund for BF3 after 75 hrs of play as i had not played in 5 weeks and simply told EA supporth that i suffered from disconnections,best thing i ever did,DICE are not the same company they used to be and Patrick Bach and his dream speech is full of crap,i will never be fooled by DICE again.

Oh yeah i play in a clan also and we all agree game is **** compared to previous.
