Apparently sometime in the next few weeks, the number of available IP addresses will run out.

Simply put, the creator of the internet made it as an experiment, with 4.3 billion possible IP addresses and didn't expect that the experiment wouldn't end.

The article makes clear that it is likely that the transition to IPv6 will not be seamless, and although it says it probably won't cost us civillian users directly, there might be some sort of balls up?
