The joys of Fiesta ST ownership.

Wow, thats... Weird. :(

Keep an eye out for Silver Fiesta's being driven by chavs, which have a slight mismatch between the front bumper and the rest of the bodywork!

...

If the bumpers of all of the cars pictured had been nicked, I might have let out a chuckle however. Not because it is actually funny, but because it would have been sufficiently ridiculous. :p

Normally a rather quiet suburb near Hillsborough without much in the way of crime but it's surrounded by some less than favourable areas :(

That sucks :(

True, nothing stopping them traveling especially if its only from surrounding areas. A mate of mine lived in a quiet area of Chapeltown and someone did a drive by on his WRX parked on his drive at night; ripped the spoiler off and drove off with it. Presume they must have seen him drive home/followed him or something.

Although it's not a nice thought, you'd have to assume they've possibly done the same with you - if you can garage it, do that - at least until some time has passed in case they remember and come back to check if there's another one they can have!

guess they went around ripping off front bumpers, dumping them in a van and driving off..

I didn't mention in the OP that about 5mins before they took off the bumper a dark blue or black mk6 Fiesta came on my road and did a 3 point turn then drove off (We live on a dead end) and then 2 guys came and took the bumper so kind of obvious the car on CCTV is what they took it in to me.

Have you forwarded this information on to the police?

I haven't reported the black Fiesta yet however they've been told about the car on my street and without a reg can't do anything.

Got my courtesy car. A 2015 Corsa SRI 1.2 with all the optional interior options so could be worse.

Making a car with interior rattles and a gearbox that can't find reverse after 8000miles is impressive even for Vauxhall though :p

Unless you have all the evidence ready to hand to them, they won't even look in to it. The police are useless these days and seem too busy pointlessly chasing twitter trolls :/

Which is why ebay etc is full of obviously knock-off goods. No one bothers chasing them.

Well it's not them responsible for budget cuts is it, plus cyber crime is a big thing you know :)

Cyber CRIME is. But some teenager name calling/bullying on the internet is just a normal day on the internet. This isn't where the time should be invested :/

But yea, my Fiesta ST will be my last Fast ford I think. They are really fun cars, but the theft rate is just to high and they attract the wrong kind of attention. I might go for a bit of a modern classic next, dunno what yet :)

People even steal the wheel centres off them at meets and shows, as much as I love Ford cars, the people in the 'scene' are often from the lower echelons of intelligence and moral standing.

Friend had this happen to his "Limited" Edition Corsa. Stole the whole front end of the car, bonnet, lights, wings, grill the lot.

They just smashed the window, popped the bonnet and unbolted the lot.

There was a lot of that going on. Even from cars at dealerships.

I knew what this thread was going to be about even before the page loaded.
Must be a really bad feeling so sorry for you, but yes I think a sale could be a good option. (for your peace of mind)

I know what you mean however I don't want to let thieves stop me enjoying what I do. I'll keep the car as normal but just keep it locked away when it's going to be left alone for extended periods such as overnight.

Insurance company could write it off yet however I'm not sure how they'll evaluate it considering I have like for like cover on mods and there are £2k+ of mods on there..

What's so special about the Mk6 bumper?

Disgusting thing to happen, the damage to the wings looks worse. :(

Presumably every claim on Fiesta ST's etc bumps up the insurance price for other owners too.
