I don't pay too much attention to credit really. I'm genuinely more interested in the worthiness of the science. [/halo] )

The only reason I ask is that this is a race. As such I think for at least the duration of the race I should concentrate on the project or projects that will most help the team in its crunchtastic ways.

So what project would best use my dual Prestonia rig?

Oh I realise that. It's just my excuse for not being a great deal of help to you regarding which project will give you the best output.

In theory every cobblie should be equal in terms of effort expended in flops, in practice it doesn't work out like that.
I would have at least two projects running in case one has a dreaded server 'issue' at some point during the gauntlet though.

Personally I couldn't care less,

There were quite a few vehement and negative posts for someone who doesn't care. Most based on the, what I consider to be flawed, assumption that new recruits won't make the switch from Boinc (not neccessarily SETI) to folding once the KIG is completed.

I just think it would be a bit annoying for those who have put effort into setting up the Folding comp and figuring stuff out if three weeks before it starts, everyone starts BOINCing and no one bothers...

This could be equally true for anyone hoping to see OCUK do well in the International Gauntlet. Which, I admit, I do.

If it appears the two competitions are competing for members then isn't it possible to move one. We may not have any control over the dates of the KIG, but we could always ask the question. OCUK are still well regarded amongst Boinc teams and we might find a sympathetic ear.

Boinc and Folding have co-existed here well enough, I don't see why that should change just because of credit competition. Especially as I genuinely believe that the science is the important thing anyway.

As the Folding competition is ours and ours alone, and still needs work, it'd make more sense to me to move that one than mess up the organisation of the KIG.

My personal view is that the folding competition is still far, far too complicated, but that's for t'other thread.

Totally agree. At the moment, the concept still needs a fair amount of work.

There's no point even trying to get the KIG altered for it just yet.

Since the folding competition will be 2 weeks this is perfect.

Ok .. I've read through the thread, so what do we need to do, how do we sign up for whatever it is we're trying to accomplish. I have a BOINC ID, about 270K or so in Seti PTS, I think I still have one active rig... not sure LOL.

I'm willing to put in a week or two. I'm gonna get pounded in F@H though, I'm loosing ground as it is

Will shift my Rigs over for the race / competition / etc etc etc or whatever this is.
