I saw this last year at the London Film Festival and it's the best thing I've seen for a long long time. If you have to choose between this Black Swan and 127 Hours...go watch this.

Comes out on Friday, even the trailer sends shivers down my spine.

Trailer.

My wife really wants to see this. She'll probably go on her own, as it's easier than us getting a babysitter, but I'll get it on DVD in due course as it looks good.

If you can go, you really should. Honestly, this is a special film. It'll win pretty much everything at the oscars this year. IMO the only films to come close to this are The Social Network (thanks to the brilliant Aaron Sorkin) and believe it or not...Kick-Ass.

Really?

Think this will beat The Social Network / Inception / Toy Story 3 to the Oscars?

I really want to go watch this as well, but I doubt any of my friends would go with me tbh!

B..b..b..but Black Swan has lesbian love with Natalie Portman.

King's Speech could turn out to be quite a fantastic film and yet another where Colin Firth puts in the acting performance of the year.

I would be very very surprised if he doesn't win best actor. Natalie Portman will be hot favorite to win best actress as she is phenomenal in Black Swan.

If Geoffrey Rush doesn't win best supporting actor, it'll be a farce!

Here is a complete list of 2010 films:

There really haven't been that many great acting performances this year. Looking at the best actor oscar list of the 2000's, every year there have been at least two people in the running for it. Potentially you have James Franco for 127 hours but I feel that because of the subject matter of the film it might damage his chances.

Just like to add I feel "The Town" should be a darkhorse in the award season. Solid acting performances and quite well received critically and commercially.

Also "The Fighter" might turn out to be quite interesting with Christian Bale competing for best supporting.

oooo worth a punt! Cheers Gustov!

I'll still have a little bet with you when I see you on Facebook next ;)

I'd not thought much of it before I saw the full trailer before love and other drugs, and it looked fantastic.

I saw this last night at a CTBF charity event, absolutely brilliant.

I cannot remember the last time a film got applause at the end.

It should wipe the boards come awards time.....

Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Cater were excellent but Geoffrey Rush stole the whole show IMO.

Friend just watched this and she said it was amazing. I want to see it even more now!!! :( :(

I'd forgotten about his film to be honest.. Spotted a trailer a while back and the missus really wanted to see it!

I'll agree on that one. Hadn't heard of it and just watched it on the off chance it was good.. Turned out to be one of my favourite films of the year, a good storyline and some decent acting! :)

Ah FFS - find this thread after I ended up having to watch 127 hours - damn ill-informed friends and my lack of ammunition to ensure we saw this...

Hopefully Ill catch it before it goes off...
