I'm running it on max settings 1440P native with 7800X3D & 7900XT and I have to say the framerate and frame pacing seems smooth as silk so far! Averaging about 90-110FPS and no stuttering that I've noticed.

Oh wow, after seeing how it is on the console I am disappointed :D it's brutal on console! that is probably the best I've ever seen gore in a game, wow. But in fairness blood wouldn't drip down like that to that extent as once the person is dead obviously the heart isn't pumping, but it's still a nice effect in the console overall which I'd prefer to have in the PC game.

Hope they add it back in.

Game running great here even without frame gen (maybe perf. will drop of later in the game?). CPU is getting absolutely hammered though!

Visuals looks good but can't help but notice all of raster shortcomings with some scenes looking like a children's popup book too :o

As always, HDR on is the only way to play

"Runs fine on my PC" needs its own meme thread.

Just tried the sequel this morning. Exactly the same as the first game - the frame pacing is 'not fine' at all. If fps drops below monitor refresh (120 in my case) then when panning the camera with a controller there is horrible 'judder'. It's basically the same as if Gsnyc is not on, but vsync is on. So it feels like Gsync is 'broken'.

So it's not fine on my PC at all. Just like the first one and just like Digital Foundry illustrate in their video.
Running a tuned AM5 9700x and 5080 by the way. All you people saying it's fine either have magic PCs or you just don't see bad frame pacing. Had this discussion many times before over the years and it's just one of those things I guess (like people who don't see the gorilla in that famous video test.)

The only fix, like with other broken games, is to make sure your fps never drops below your refresh rate.

The only fix until/ if they patch it is to make sure your fps never drops below your refresh rate.

Sounds like you're unlucky with issues lately as seen you mention gsync not working etc. and a whole bunch of other issues. Personally had zero issues since getting 5080 on all drivers. Same way I had very little drivers issues when running amd GPUs for better part of a decade meanwhile everyone else was having issues. Just goes to show how random driver issues can be for folks which isn't surprising given the variety of hardware. It's just the way these things are when it comes to pc gaming.

As people know, I'm super sensitive to frame pacing etc. too, to the point I rather game on the aw34dw if FPS is below 70 as the gsync ultimate module is simply superior to adaptive/free/g sync compatible displays but most folk don't notice the difference.

Not sure what you have done i.e. clean driver installs etc. but might be worthwhile doing a windows reinstall if you haven't already.

Edit:

Also, the first game ran absolutely ****, took 3 patches before it was in a playable state. Had massive vram leak issues to the point even the 24gb crashed or slowed to a crawl after a couple of hours of playthrough.

Think the last game I played which was awful was Spiderman 2 when Symbiote scenes happened but 3/4 patches later, it is running great now. Mfg helped with how poor it was but wasn't the silver bullet.

Steam decrypting happens on a single core so yes, you will be sat about ages whilst it decrypts whereas downloading whilst decrypting on the fly saves a lot of time.
Ah, takes me back to Half-Life 2. Installed the game from the DVD, then waited for an aeon for it to activate on launch day. Well worth it.

I have the game capped at 100fps and my monitor is 240Hz, butter smooth at all times as per my 33min video posted previously.

Seems the bulk of issues are with people running AMD builds.... Seems a common theme year after year. There are exceptions of course.

I was expecting issues being on a 5800x3d but surprised it runs very well. Comparing your video to mine, seems my performance is above yours too which surprised me but I do have the 5080 OC.
