Anyone picking this up? I'm approaching with extreme caution because it's a Damon Lindelof effort, but the premise is pretty interesting and it's supposedly quite good around the mid season mark. First two episodes are directed by Peter Berg of Friday Night Lights (the film) Hancock and Battleship fame.

The Leftovers takes place in the wake of a global "Rapture" and centers on the people who were not taken but were left behind in a suburban community.

It's got a decent cast; Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler and Christopher Eccelston among others. On the whole I enjoyed Lost, so I'm a bit more confident of Lindelof's involvement here, particularly given that its an HBO show. Time will, of course, tell.

The pilot is a little shaky but it's got a lot of potential. Here's hoping it doesn't go the way of FlashForward.

Well thank you HBO, I now have something to fill the hole left by GoT. It feels like we're jumping in at the deep end but I suppose that allows us to empathise with the characters more because they know nothing either. I didn't think it was shaky at all, it introduced some intriguing characters and gave us a story that can literally go anywhere. I was very impressed by the acting but there again it's usually pretty good on HBO. Looking forward to episode 2 now :)

I checked IMDB last night and Liv Tyler and Christopher Eccelston are only it for 2 out of the 6 shows made so far. Mid you their parts so far have been small.

I thought it was quite brilliant, best US pilot I've seen for a while. Thoroughly intruiged waiting for the next episodes.

Am hoping the normal Lindelof approach of making it up as you go along is negated by following the book.

I saw the first ep and really liked it but like most was very apprehensive due to Lost which I just gave up on. Hopefully as mentioned as it's HBO it shouldn't be made up as it goes along.

I've watched the first couple of episodes.

2% of the population disappeared, okay but right now I'm not really bothered about it. I think if they gave you even the slightest hint of why or how (even if it was just misdirection) I'd be a little more hooked. I was waiting for the big reveal hint at the end of episode 1 (even maybe the end of episode 2) but it never came.

As there's not a lot on at the moment I will probably follow it for a while.
