The lowdown on Knock-off nigel

Everyone keep pirating or buying at the same level we are doing right now. We're at a nice equilibrium point now.

I disagree. Those of us who do both are getting shafted when we do the right thing. DRM generally effectively removes "fair use", and were grossly overcharged for crippled stuff that we then either
1)Don't buy
2)Have to remove the DRM from
3)Suck it up and accept the restrictions.

If I buy an album from iTunes, there are restrictions on what I can do with that album that restrict my "fair use" of that album. I'm basically buying a license to listen to that album but it's locked down so I can only listen to it (in it's current form) in places Apple deem appropriate. If I were to buy the album from Asda, unless it was a DRM infested CD, I could do vastly more with it. Why? The distribution cost for online sales should be minimal.

Buy music online = locked down music.
Pirate music online = free music in every sense.

The companies that are trying DRM-free are going about it the right way, it's just taken then a decade too long. The way things are now are not good, but they are on the verge of maybe getting better.

Nope, Carrickfergus Omniplex

Funnily enough those sections are dead easy to remove when coping a DVD meaning the only people they annoy are the people who buy legit DVD's

Ahh Omniplex, same as newry then. :p
