The MacBooks are out!

I'm finding it very hard to find software :(

You can download software very easily for the pc, but when it comes to the mac, everything is so hard to get.

I've found it very easy to find software. What are you looking for? :)

I've just done a bit of a battery test, and it's managed 4hrs of just standard use (Word, internet, etc...) with Airport. Which isn't too bad really.

So it's the fault of the Mac platform that you can't pirate software?

I didn't actually say that, I would much prefer this mac over any pc.

Was just after some advice...ok?

Has anyone actually took their macbook anywhere?
I'm can't find a store that does cases in the macbooks size, and can't really take it anywhere until I find a case.

I'm still very undecided as to what to do about a case too :( It's actually really annoying not being able to take it anywhere :D

Does anyone know how i can get it to boot into OS X as default, instead of XP!?

go into control panel in XP or system preferences in OS X and choose Disk Startup or something like that, little hard drive icon

and then choose your default operating system

There's no problems with it overheating. These chips are designed to run hot, that's all. If it crashes then there is a problem with the Macbook. The heat isn't a problem unless you're naked and have it on your lap.

I think the vent thing is extremely rare.

The same chips in some Latitude D620s run a lot cooler, the chips aren't designed to run hot, they are designed to not be damaged by high temperatures. This doesn't make 75c idle temps 'normal'.

So what's the problem with them being a bit hot if it's not crashing?
