THE MAGNIFICENT 7: BIG DISCOUNTS ON GRAPHICS CARDS!!

Were not going to sell below cost and I have no 580's in stock to even attempt it with. Please no one here ask for a 570, the card that every forum member shunned the most, it is clearly a mining device and priced as such. ;)

I am hopeful for a large volume of 580's shipping just before CNY, hoping for 1k units, if that happens they shall be setup with a discount code like I did a few months ago. However those RX 580's are now $60 more expensive per card for me to buy in, so of course the prices that once was are impossible. :(
But isn't some of that offset by the improved £/$ exchange rate?

Yes but it is nowhere near enough, as such new landed cost are much higher.

Example $240 / 1.30 = £185
Example $320 / 1.40 = £230

So even with new rate cost has increased £40-£50 on an RX 580 and that is before any gouging by a distributor and reseller. As such is why the cost won't be going back to what they once were, even when supply is plentiful.

The pound needs to buy you 1.70 dollars for every 1 pound to neutralise the effect and its hovering around 1.40 so its got a very long way to go.

Which card?
Was the ASUS Strix . Just checked order to send you a screenshot and it seems to have changed from Cancelled to Not Paid, although I dont see a button that I can press to proceed to payment, maybe I am blind:

Call sales tomorrow, we had 60 of those to sell at offer price and when I left tonight we'd only done around 8 cards with codes, so plenty spare. :)

Cool, sounds good, i thought maybe they would be flying out like hotcakes since there is such a shortage everywhere.
Maybe yous guys can do some CPU/Mobo/Ram offers over the next few month and I will end up with a completely new system!

Hello Gibbo, massive thanks man. My number = OC3390147.

Thought about upgrading last week & then a proper shock when i saw the price increases....

I do not mine but want to step up to 1440p & will hopefully be buying a monitor from you next month. Any deals for monitors in the pipeline? ;)

Now what the hell do i do with an Asus R9 290X? Can't sell it on on the MM & don't want to put it on fleabay cause a miner will nab it, most likely.

If the old prices are gone for a long time Nvidia will laugh because these prices are too close to a titan if Nvidia sell a titan volta at 1200 which keeps an 800 resell value its going to make sense for everyone who used to buy a ti or similar top end gpu. Where does this leave retailers?

And how long until AMD sell threadrippers direct too because of mining? It makes sense for them to promote mining as much as possible.

What a time for this to come up, would have gone for a 1080 ti if this had been in a couple of weeks' time....

Still, great offer, nice to see some consideration for the gamers at the moment!

Maybe in 5 years time the only graphics cards sold will be via NVIDIA and just reference cards. We won't sell them, board partners won't make them and the focus shall be other areas for resellers and board partners, of course the future is an unknown.

Cheers for the deals Gibbo. With prices as crazy as they are right now, I bit the bullet and went for a Vega 56 to finally replace my Sapphire R9 290X.

It's been a fantastic card and done me proud over the years but I might not get another chance at this price on a new card for a long time.

Edit: Just checked my OCUK orders and I got that 290X in Dec 2013... It's done really well :D

Maybe it is only one part of a build but still a dangerous thing for a retailer if more people decide to sell direct. People get greedy look at the same trend in how games were sold aka people refusing to let a product be sold out of thier ecosystem.

Ugh, I do really need to update my 970GTX. Running a 1440p/60hz setup - what would be my best choice? :)

It's a little more than I'd like to spend but they probably won't be this cheap for some time (possibly ever?)

Really tempted by the 1080ti deal as I don't think we will see affordable high performance graphics cards for a long time. However even the sub £700 Gigabyte model is hard to swallow, I think I'll chance it and hold tight with a 980ti and hope that Crypto buggers off overnight and hundreds of cut price cards flood the market.

thanks Gibbo - treated myself to a 1080 to upgrade my 970 - should help to drive my 40 inch 4K screen a little better. Once again OCUK showing the customers the love....
