Well, it...

was mostly setup for the rest of the season. But it's a serviceable episode.
Several cute moments, but nothing outstanding or terribly memorable story wise I would say at this time.
Except for possibly that hyperspace moment. ;)

Theory on one thing up ahead...

We saw in the trailer that R5 joins Mando and Grogu on the N-1 on some journey.
Given what happens this episode, either IG's memories are put into R5 (only one with compatible parts) and R5 joins as IG's replacement body to help Mando explore Mandalore.
Or R5 has the parts but needs to go IG to restore them before they join Mando on Mandalore.
EIther way, "IG" or some part of them is joining Mando on their quest I would theorise.

Time to vibe again…

Can someone spoiler me on the hyperspace thing? Not sure what was going on there.

S’alright! The whole ‘aww Grogu’ thing has worn off on me slightly, plus the initial driving plot for this new series seems a bit… eh, forced? The action scenes also seem a bit trite after the excellent drama focussed latter half of Andor. Leaning heavily on the successful but tried and tested ‘western vibes’ also. It was always unlikely to do anything particularly special with the first episode I suppose.

All complaints aside, fun world building and effortlessly watchable. Here’s hoping for more ‘self contained episode’ content, which is where Mando excels, rather than drawn out low threat plot arcs.

I’m more interested in the going back to Mandalore plot line.

Late to see the new ep but jumping in right now clutching bars of chocolates to munch on and a can of ginger beer.

CHOCOLATES!

This is the way.

Agreed.

It really is good and following the "out of the blue" unexpected brilliance of Andor we've firmly split Star wars into a Kiddy, whimsical almost, side and a serious side which im completely and utterly fine with.

I think both Shows are right on their money.

The action in this first episode was a bit eyerolling, the whole opening felt extremely stupid.
The pirates.. God please just shut your mouths. I hope they dont turn up again but i suspect that will be a B or C plot.... urgh...

Still after THE Boba Fett "failiure" i hope they realised why people loved this and just refine that.
