The Marvels

If I am honest, superhero films were never any interest to me. I don't know about anyone else here, but it was always an American thing to me, and had nothing to do with my childhood at all.

For me that first Iron Man was amazing, obviously they had to make the other films to setup the MCU for Avengers, but I could do without half or more of the films that came about..

Could easily have had only 2 Iron Man's, 1 Thor, 1 Captain America and the Avengers 3 as a finale.
Everything else is just milking the cash cow.

Just watched it, quite enjoyed it 6/10 for me perfectly watchable. I have no idea why people dont like Brie Larson she is perfect for the roll.

I enjoyed it less on second viewing tbh.

Villain was the biggest problem. Looks better suited to being in the cast (or an extra) on Holby City tbh. Her clothes fitted her really badly as well. Reminded me of Ghost in Ant-Man 2, rubbish British female villain who should stick to being an extra on The Bill.

Must be, superhero films are generally all about the male power fantasy, and millennials and those even younger have been brain washed into thinking men are all toxic.

I'm a millenial and I know plenty of people just in their 20s who were big fans of marvel films. Its not a generational thing, its a quality thing. Thats why its falling to pieces. A combination of a drop of quality, over-saturation and the ending of an era that people were invested in.

There has been a lot of crap recently but GotG3 and Spider Man : No Way Home were good and great respectively and in no way would I lumber either with the label woke. D+ is a much better target for that accusation.

Spider Man and GotG3 are the exceptions although personally I liked Spider Man, but didn't care much for GotG3 as I had lost interest in Marvel films by that point. Now it's more "well I'll watch it just to see how much Disney screwed the pooch"

I didn't realise that this film did "officially" break $200m at the box office, if IMDB are to be believed, hitting a whopping $206m. I think the accuracy issues are mostly down to the timing of the reports from international box office being messed about with I think.
