The Matrix

Always nice to pop a matrix DvD in, on the subject of the sequels I think reloaded was a brilliant action flick and revolutions was ok, but disappointed on the general action and ending, for example the smith fight at the end looked brilliant in the trailers but it was utterly ridiculous in the actual film.

There's a set on play.com for 9.99 with the 3 movies, would that include this disc? It doesn't mention it.

I doubt it. AFAIK the only ones that include it are the ultimate matrix collection (the 10 disc on with evereything) and the two disc matrix/matrix revisited set that comes in a sort of slipcase with the matrix code running down the front.

Anyone else got 'The Animatrix' on DVD... that's very good!.. you get to see what the deal with 'The Kid' that keep bothering Neo is (what Neo means by 'He got himself out'), 'The Last Flight of the Osiris' links nicely into the start of the second film too!!, and the 2 part story about how it all happened (Why their at war with the AI and where the Matrix comes from) is very good also!...

I have it, it comes with the Ultimate edition 5 Disc thingy.

Last Flight of the Osiris is easily the best of the Animatrix I think.

Was I the only one that also completed "Enter The Matrix" before watching Reloaded in the cinema? :D

Edit: Oh that reminds me, BluRay release is 24/11/2008 :) So 4 days time!

You know, I have the complete 10 disk Matrix boxset thing and I've yet to watch anything from it. I may need to do that.

I liked the second renaissance from animatrix, for story and for the graphical/animation work.

I have all these on Disk in some big Matrix boxset i have. Don't think ive seen them all.

Might watch them all again, they were brilliant from what i remember.

I still use the first film to set up mine and family/friends 5.1 systems.. straight to the lobby scene for surround testing (bullets pinging all over the place) then to the helicopter scene for low down grunt testing as it explodes shaking the Sub!...

I use Godzilla, the helecopter chase scene. Covers all bases :)

I also have some other material, but always get a 'Wow' and gasps when I stick the Matrix in!! :D

My DVD doesn't have DTS encoding :(

I always find films that have Dolby 5.1 disappointing compared to those with DTS

That's why I bought (and still have going strong) a Panasonic RV60 DVD player (Yeeears ago!!), its Multiregion (thanks to Tectronics.. Remember them!?!?), both DD and DTS decoders.. plugged into my Aiwa Stereo (with 5.1 input) via 6 RCA leads (I don't have a Full-HC Amp yet!!) it rocks!!...

If I can find a version of a film with a DTS soundtrack over the normal DD one I'll get that!.. I've quite a lot of R1 and R3 stuff because of that!!.. 'Dog Soldiers' for instance!.. Region 3 and its got a DTS-6.1 soundtrack (I know it downmixes to 5.1 on my system!!) sounds awesome compared to my mates DD-5.1 version..

I'm hoping to move into the big leagues next year and actually get a proper 7.1 Setup :D

Saw this for the first time in HD the other day and was blown away by how good it looked.... and that was just on Sky HD...... Imagine what the BlueRay will look like in a couple of weeks

Why was it?
