anyone listen to metal with females vocals ?
ive never really heard any, but been trolling You tube for some tonight

Not really a fan of the "Operatic" style of female vocals (Nightwish etc) but I like the normal style such as Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil and then I get very confused by growling vocals like Arch Enemy as it takes away the uniqueness for me, even though I really like Arch Enemy

thanks , had a listen to those

Nightwish , her voice has an octive too high for metal, whilst within temptation and lacuna coil are better suited to my taste

and ill have a listen to arch enemy in a bit

mmmm..........

Devine conspiracy was good but the later albums have some great tracks (there's both his growl and hers)

Love the intensity but not so 'heavy' In This Moment.. think her vocals are great.

Interesting link, although that does span a wide genre of music. My tastes lie more along the symphonic metal side of things.

Ahh - she's got a great voice - sounds like Kate Bush on a couple of the songs!

Magali Luyten has some power but is more rock orientated.

Magali Luyten , hmm yes maybe a bit more Rock, but this song is a lot of metal imo, some rock in it I suppose, but I quite like it (reminds me a little of sepultura in the instrumental parts)

Can't help but like Burzum, I don't like the atmospheric albums anywhere as much though.
