The tumor removal surgery went well without any surprises. I’m recovering well and should be up and about soon. It will take a few weeks to know what the findings are regarding the tumor and lymph node that will be tested. I’ll keep you posted.

All on repeat over the last week.

Cant link videos due to work pc restrictions.

Forteresse - Thèmes pour la Rébellion
42 minutes of Anthemic Black metal with plenty of melody from Quebec.

Nokturnal Mortum - Голос Сталі(The Voice of Steel)
There ties to the NSBM scene and contradicting statements about disassociating with said scene makes them hard to recommend BUT imo the best blackened folk metal album ever. Track 3 "Valkyrie" is where I would jump in if you want to cherry pick one song.

Wytch Hazel - Pentecost:III

Early maiden influenced hard rock. Like Wishbone Ash with JB from Grand Magus on vocals. Definitely worth your attention.

Holy Hell - When did Paradise Lost get good again? This is off the 2020 Obsidian album.

I loved them through Icon, Draconian etc but at "One Second" it felt like it was too "commercial rock" for me and their later albums took a musical direction which didn't gel with me so when this popped up in my YT feed I was very hesitant to play it but I'm glad I did as I really like it, enough to make me find the album on YT and give a run-through to see if it's worth getting.

ive only heard Draconian Times

this song is completely different

It's similar to their much older stuff, way before Draconian Times which, whilst I love that album, I can now see was the start of their shift away from "metal" and into their "commercial rock" phase, in the same way that The Black Album was for Metallica for example.

An album I've never really listened to.

Playing it now. Enjoying it until we got to New Breed.

It sounds like a mish mash of Meshuggah, Pantera and Type O Negative.
Blast from the past, Fear Factory were always a little hit and miss. I have seen them live a couple of times. My favourite album was Archetype, was one of my albums I use to work out to. Two great songs off that album.

Calling Metal heads around London....

I have been let down by a friend to come and see Sikth on 26th November, so I have a spare ticket and technically no one to go with.
I dont really want any money for the ticket, but anyone who wants to come and be a bit of company for the evening, happy to sling it your way! PM me if anyone is genuinely interested!

Can't help with the tickets...but seeing their name is a proper blast from the past! I don't think i have listened to any of their works since The Trees are Dead.... - thats 2003!

Doesn't feel like 19 years ago!! Will have to have a listen on Spotify later :)

want to post this

if anyone likes 18 & Life by Skid Row

although I've heard Tommy sing before, he suits this one pretty well because her sings a octave above (i think)
