** THE MOST IMPRESSIVE LAPTOP WE'VE SEEN YET - SAMSUNG G7 3D GAMING LAPTOP! **

If you was to buy this laptop and install an SSD and a bigger HD, wouldn't this void the warranty? or atleast render you selling the 2 spare 750gb hd a no go?

Nope, with laptops you can change the memory and HDD without affecting warranty.

I have a Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB doing nothing ATM, as one in my Desktop seems fine.

A few questions

1. is it straight forward putting the windows O/S on the SSD after delivery?, since the os will be installed yes?, and does it come with windows 7 Disk?

2. spec says glasses are included, with "*" at the side, so are the glasses included, and do they use USB IR(or something like that) device to pick the 3d signal up, ot is it on the screen (3D Vision IR Emitter) like Toshiba Qosmio used( had this for a while).

3. Does it come with Software for Viewing Blu-ray etc (think cyberlink), as its a pain putting a blu-ray in only to find no player for it

Just a few of Q's before having a look at my Empty Basket:)

Unsure to be honest, seen some benchmarks and it seems mixed. Be interested in finding out what the differences are between 6990M and 6970M as benchmarks don't really seem to indicate a clear winner.

Slightly lower clocks on the 6990M, but quite a few more shaders IIRC.
The 6970ms are meant to clock better because of that though :)

Hi OcUK,

Do we have any updates as to when you expect this item to be in stock? I'm VERY keen to order one and would like to know roughly how long it'd take to arrive once ordered.

Thanks

Hi there

They are overdue, shall have an update Monday but were the first in the UK to recieve. :)

I'm a little turned off by it being amd/tridef 3d to be honest, but one thing I did want to mention that stood out to me as a non-WASD player, it has separate cursor keys and a full numeric keypad, like a regular (non-laptop) keyboard would have. Nice touch.

Looks nice and the spec speaks for itself, but I can hardly imagine playing BF3 on the commute to work lol

Any more news on this item? Does it come with the 3D glasses? ETA? Oh and if anyone knows of any reviews of this machine or if the OcUK staff can elaborate a little with thier experiences of the laptop that'd be awesome.

Cheers :)

Product page says it does come with the glasses :).

Gibbo said he'll get some benchmarks up when they arrive, looks like they're a bit late though!

dazed and confuzed

Ok so not a tech wizard here and hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction on the Samsung 700g7A and the MSI GTX780DXR.

Have been comparing the two and can't decide which is the better option, I have noticed that the samsung runs the 6990 HD Radeon card 2GB and the MSI the GTX570M Nivida but what is better? I belive that the Radeon has 1200 cores and the Nivida 400 cuda cores but in all honesty i understand neither.

Also wanted to ask if anyone has some more pictures of the build quality of the Samsung as previous experience with their lower end equipment is they have been quite plastic and finish that might be poorer than the MSI.But those who have used it will be able to confirm.

All in All i am aware that they are similar machines but cant decide for myself with lack of knowledge which would be better to go for? anyone able to shed some light

its the 6970 not 6990 you muppit:) (though ought to be (should?))

Its faster than the 570M as seen on notebook check site

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6970M.43077.0.html

The samsung has a 120Hz screen AND 3D Glasses included, whilst the MSI at the same price lacks these. Priced both the Same at £1499, the samsung is easily the better laptop - on the spec sheet that is. Hope to see some benchmarks when they arrive at OC/UK
