For grown-up gamers the Samsung Series 7 700G7 is the notebook you’ve always dreamed of. Hidden within its discrete and elegant design is the most powerful graphics card currently available – the AMD RadeonTM HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5. It also includes the blistering processing power of the very latest Intel® CoreTM i7 processor, Windows® 7 Home Premium and innovative Express Cache technology, so you can enjoy thrilling high-speed action all the way. An optimized Gaming mode and ergonomic backlit gaming keyboard also give you even more performance and control, while awesome 3D surround sound and a full HD 17.3” display bring games bursting into life. So if you want to play faster, bigger and harder, but do it with a real touch of style then you need to own the 700G7 notebook.

With its state-of-the-art graphics, powerful, high speed processing and stylishly elegant design the 700G7 notebook is the perfect companion for sophisticated gamers.
Serious gaming calls for serious hardware. The AMD RadeonTM HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5 graphics card features a new and advanced architecture delivering unprecedented video quality and supercharged
performance for the uncompromising gamer. With full support for DirectX® 11 it delivers visually stunning games, as well as significant performance improvements when viewing websites and using everyday applications.

Innovative Express Cache technology provides 8GB of flash memory on the motherboard that works as an ultra fast HDD. So it significantly improves startup, application launch, Internet surfing and information access speeds, while maintaining the safety and integrity of your data. Its intelligent, automatic caching takes 25% less time to boot up and starts Internet Explorer 50% times faster.

A next generation quad-core Intel® CoreTM i7 processor delivers bestin-class performance for the most demanding applications and games. It dynamically allocates processing power where it’s needed most using intelligent Turbo Boost technology. And when the notebook is in gaming mode it turbo cools the CPU, so it always delivers maximum performance even in extreme situations.

Give yourself an advantage by switching to Gaming mode. It turbo cools the CPU to keep it working at full speed for non-stop gaming action. The Windows key and touch pad are also disabled to avoid accidental interruptions, and the main gaming keys are highlighted in red, so you can play faster with fewer errors. Plus it activates special wall paper and theme controls. And when you’ve finished playing a simple Mode Dial lets you switch quickly to 3 other modes for optimum performance. Balanced mode is ideal for general use. In Library mode fan noise is reduced and any unnecessary lighting or sound is switched off. And in Green mode you can save power eg. during long downloads.

Features a high quality gaming keyboard with a desktop layout, including ergonomic u-shaped key caps, a 2.7mm keystroke and separated arrow keys. The keyboard is also backlit in white in dark environments or blue in Gaming mode, which also highlights the main gaming keys in red and disables the Windows key, so you can play quickly and precisely for maximum results.

With a full HD 17.3” LED display you’ll enjoy clearer, more vivid images in 16 million colors. Its 400nit brightness is also 2x brighter than normal laptop displays, so you’ll never miss a thing. And it has less mirror effect from surrounding lights, like lamps, so you can game for longer without your eyes getting tired. Enter a new dimension in 3D gaming and enjoy 3D movies and games in full HD quality. The combination of a 3D screen*1 working at 120Hz and active shuttering 3D glasses*1, using proven Bluetooth technology, produces much smoother image playback and more natural colors with noticeably less visual disruption. Enjoy high quality cinematic surround sound with Dolby® Home Theater ® v4. It delivers crisp and clear 5.1 or 7.1 channel sound through the built-in speakers and subwoofer, headphones, external speakers or a home theater system. So wherever you’re playing you can immerse yourself in full-impact surround sound and savor all the subtle nuances of today’s games.

No word of a lie I've never been so impressed before by a laptop, not only is the design so sleek and ooozes quality throughout, but more impressive is the sheer performance. The ATI 6970M is considerably faster than the GTX 560M and GTX 570M solutions, infact it seems to be a GTX 580M competitor.

Then to add to that the TriDef 3D support which seems so easy to use and the 3D glasses, which I must add for the first time did not give me a headache, this was simply awsome. Infact playing Call of Duty 4 (demo on laptop) has never been so much fun, I did not work yesterday because of this. :D

had a quick go on this yesterday.
couldn't believe the quality of the 3D in modern games.

in honesty I was rather sceptical at first but the entire office seems to have been wowed by this.

The feature set is impressive, watching this thing run benchmarks was staggering.

at that price, you get an awful lot for your money.

No SSD? For £1500 I'd want a SSD for my money.

As an enthusiest I agree, but laptop manufacturers are finding when they do say a 120GB SSD + 750GB HDD, their sales drop massively.

Reasons for this are:-

1. 1.5TB capacity is more appealing than 750GB + 120GB
2. 1.5TB is also far lower price, by approx £300
3. Overall lower price point on laptop.

As such laptop manufacturers do it as per above because they know they will still sell and those who want an SSD boot drive shall buy it seperately and install themselves. :)

P.S. Whats even better is this supports SATA-6 and USB3.0 :D

Yeah at that price I'd rather have a 750gig (or 1TB) main drive and a SSD in the second bay rather than RAID0... RAID0 on a laptop is asking for trouble IMO.

If it had a GTX580m in there I'd snap it up heh does look stunning in all other regards especially the 120Hz panel.

EDIT: I can quite see "As an enthusiest I agree, but laptop manufacturers are finding when they do say a 120GB SSD + 750GB HDD, their sales drop massively." pitty average consumer just goes by the numbers :S

Why a GTX 580M, I suspect its hardly any quicker if at all. Plus it would add to the cost.

With ATI solution you get the power and the 3D without the inflated cost.

An SSD version could be done, but with a 120GB SSD you looking at circa £1699, it won't be the same price. A similar spec from Alienware would be over £2500......

Who buys alienware anyway? :p We all know it's the worst rip off ever known to man, you'd be a fool to buy alienware.

This is a very good price, yeah SSD would be nice (but so would 2 girls in bikini fanning you in the summer; zzee, not gonna happen). But its a gaming laptop, 1500 is impressive for a laptop for this spec.

Also it's in raid 0. Regardless, i wouldn't expect anyone to be flinging this laptop around or knocking it etc. :p

Yes it is RAID 0, so its quick.

But will say putting an SSD into a laptop does transform them, if I was buying this, I'd buy it and buy a 64GB or 120GB Crucial M4 and remove one of the 750GB's and put the SSD in place as boot drive, then its the ultimate. :)

Yes for £1500 its a bargain, same price as the MSI one we do but has faster graphics along with 120Hz and 3D support and I never thought anyone would top MSI for value, but Samsung have. :)

wow, this does look like a true, no compromise laptop in terms of performance.

I really am impressed and it doesnt look tacky most gaming laptops look *ahem* Alienware.
however, why include 2 usb3.0 and 2 usb 2.0? should have gone all the way with 4 usb 3.0 ports imo.

Blue ray writer would have also been nice but now im just being picky:p

the 6970m is the opposite to the 570m the 580m is the opposite to a 6990m, this is a really good laptop, samsungs sleek design with all those trimmings, it looks quite thin though i suspect the heat is quite high. Alienware is good i own one though i got mine from the outlet :p

Very nice indeed, I've been looking closely at the outlet for a decent deal but have always been slightly reluctant due to the "teenage" designs of their gaming laptops.

I travel a lot due to my job, and pulling out a bespangled laptop through airport security all the time attempting to maintain a "professional" image would be difficult to say the least.

So here it is a decent performing laptop that appears to be robust enough to take a few inevitable travelling knocks along the way. Will they do a 15.6" version?

Shame you don't have these in stock before my next 9 day trip!

They don't run that hot actually, had no problems yesterday after running COD on it for 2hrs. :)

Yes out of the gaming laptops this is the slimmest I've come across, weight seems very acceptable too, plus upto 3.5hr battery life. :)

The gaming laptop before the one I have now had an ATI GPU and it was quite uninspiring, I've generally found nVidia laptop GPUs work better/I'd be more comfortable with them personally.

60gig or so SSD is probably all it needs, stick OS and frequently used programs/games on that and the rest on the mechanical HDD, using 30gig+320gig now and its doable if a little tight on space without management.

If NVIDIA is a must have then I recommend the MSI GT780DXR we sell, it has a GTX 570M and is a damn good laptop for the money, but if it was my money I'd be buying the Samsung personally. :)

Its the 120Hz panel thats the draw for me, already have a decentish gaming laptop but can really tell the difference using it compared to the 120Hz panel my desktop.
