The most middle-class first-world problems...

I know someone who has to buy 2-3 copies of the same weekly woman's magazine so that his sister, mum and wife can read it at the exact same time and discuss together without anyone being out of the loop.

Whilst anyone else would buy one copy and share or read afterwards.

He's single handedly keeping that magazine in production. I only found this out when we popped into the shop together and then he proceeded to grab several copies of the same magazine and then explained to the checkout person why he had several copies of the same magazine.

I don't think you can get more middle class than that tbh since we no longer have servants or butler's to read them out publicly to everyone present.

almost every reply is just pointing out their ability to buy things or that they don't buy the cheapest version of something :p
Which is exactly what I was saying. It’s humblebragging, which arguably isn’t middle class. (Having said that I don’t think that really applies anymore. Middle class people are probably just as competitive/ostentatious, it’s just the rules of the game are subtly different. In fact true toffs will still probably judge each other eg whose money is “older’, and who is really just arriviste).

Most people are not middle class, you're just the new form of working class. I would still class myself as working class with aspirations to middle class and according to someone in another thread I earn in the top few percent of salaries globally. Would be different if I was married, both on similar incomes and had been there for 20 years....

edit: my definition of working class is someone who works for a living. Middle class is reaching the part where your net worth means that you're working to top up your lifestyle rather than having to. Upper class is inherited intergenerational wealth.

Just changed the coin cell battery in my car keyfob but it didn’t work. On inspection I had forgot to remove the small child warning sticker on one side of the battery.

so elon musk and bezos are working class? are blue collar workers people who have blue collars?

Elon Musk and Bezos are working class by definition. Class isn't just based on wealth. Over time they could join into another class but both realistically have no influence in the day to day running of a country. Unlike people like the Rothschilds who would be considered the upper class of America.

That’s a perspective, but not really anywhere near the accepted definition of working and middle class. It also implies you can be born working class, earn enough to be middle class, and if you’re lucky, then make enough to make your kids upper class. It would make the kids of a footballer who came from poverty, upper class!

The wife has a permanently bruised shin from walking into the tow bar on the Discovery.

I could take it off but it’s far too funny.

No because they have intergenerational wealth. Would have thought that was clear? My point is that lots of people who buy Mercedes on pcp, work in middle management, buy a cookie cut house are fooling themselves into thinking they are middle class. They are not. They are on the same rat race as joe the plumber (if not worse!).

My idea of middle class, again maybe my age, husband upper management, wife no need to work, society's socialising, charity work. Well educated, definitely a detached with land, leafy select suberb.
Also remember finding Margo remarkably hot, just saying

You need to go ssd:D.
Hehe, if only. The boot drive is SSD, but these are 36TB of HDDs. Some might say I'd need to be upper class to swap them to SSDs.

p.s. I think I've found the buzz - it's the bottom panel that seems to be touching the drive cage. The world is good again :).
