The most points you have had on your license at any time

5, just over 3 years old now.

Also got a 28 day ban on there as well,

Got them about 6 months apart when I was commuting ~65 miles a day (total) and both from mobile camera's.

The points don't seem to affect insurance, the ban does, but considering the other option was to have 11 points on my licence for 2.5 years (at least for 'totting up') I'm happy I got the ban :p

3 - for an SP30 (doing 38mph in a 30 zone). Was extremely annoying. It was 1am, had just entered the 30 zone from a 60 zone and was slowing, the copper even said that the figure represent the fastest he had clocked me at so was easily doing 30mph soon afterwards.

Most irking of all, I only took that route home from work (part time barman at the time whilst i was at uni) was because i was coming back from giving a girl a lift home (and didnt get any 'thanks' for it!)

The guy had a nice queue of taxi's all sitting there having tickets written out for them when i pulled in, and more so after I left.

None at the moment and none in the last 5 years but...

Twice I have been on 11 points one of those was for over 2 and a half years and I was banned for 6 months for hitting 12 on a 3rd occasion.

20 Years of hammering up and down the motorways between 50,000 and 75,000 miles a year does that.

I averaged a speeding conviction about every 75,000 miles.

4, around 4 years ago. 3 for goign through a gasto (30) at 42mph and an extra point for goign to court in a black suit with white brothel creepers, pink tie and bright pink hair (that's true too, a fellow forum member went along with me..). I was a bit cheeky, and 2 of the 3 judges didn't care for my blurb.

someone remind me please

My licence has recently been returned to the DVLA and is now completely clear. However, when I apply for insurance its says "convictions within the last five years". My last points where in 2005, however these are now not on my licence.

Do I need to declare them?

When was the date of conviction, if within five years then yes. Let your insurer decide if they consider it relevant.

Zero now, but I did have 12 points once, with 9 of them counting, all from speeding.
