The Mummy

It's not a remake of the Brendan Fraiser films. It's a movie based around the mummy concept/legend. There's been lots of mummy films going back to the early 1900's.

It is inevitable there is going to be comparisons though and personally I didn't find it a patch on the 1999 movie.

Looks like Thomas Mapother IV was given too much creative control for this film.

That and giving the director's chair to someone who may have written and produced successful films, but has only directed one film, which was a small budget drama. This was just a one off film, it was supposed to be a film to start off a succession of Universal Monster films. Kurtzman was nothing more than a 'yes man' for Mr Mapother.

wth. I know I'll let lucifer/satan willingly into my body, in the hope I can take over and that I have a stronger will.

WTF STUPID STRATEGY.

Although I suppose he can't die, and even if he does, mummy would bring him back and sacrifice anyway. Or because method of the sacrifice was different..but even so..
