The new Arsenal Club Thread - *No Spoilers & Read OP Before Posting*

I feel we are being let down by the more experienced players, Lacazette, Bellerin,Xhaka.. None of them have had a decent league game for us in a year. Aubamarang hasn’t been playing well either, but we know he can score if given the chance. I just hope they let Arteta get in a few players in January.

After the restart it really looked like we had turned a corner. :(

Can't explain it, worst I've ever seen us play but under a manager I'm backing to do great things.

We can't rebuild a team if we can't get shot of the deadweight. We've been overall very poor in the windows for years now, that and the issues surrounsing player contracts etc just highlights how badly the club is run.

he is the rotten apple that is single handedly destroying the club and dressing room i imagine.

He needs to get rid of Ozil this January.

Waste of space

Don't be stupid, you can't blame Ozil for what is happening to Arsenal, it sounds insane. Arsenal have scored 10 goals this season, only Sheffield, West Brom and Burnley have scored less.

The players have lost confidence in Arteta, making such a massive error with Ozil who was the most creative player in that side year after year, a well liked player, who was friends with everyone, he was the heart of that club and he's not even in the 25 man squad, its a nuts decision by Arteta. It would have been fine if Ozil wasn't starting as much because Arteta wants 10 men pressing hard, you don't really get that with Ozil. But the flipside to not pressing is you are not close to the opposition, you find more space, you have more time, which gives Ozil the opportunity to do what he does best. The fact Arteta doesn't know that considering he himself played a playmaking role even if it was deeper on the pitch is quite astonishing.

Why are arsenal playing with 5 at the back? To me it would make sense switching to 4 as clearly another player is needed in an advanced position

As an outsider it's clear arsenal need a creative player and a winger as the likes of pepe and Willian have disappointed

We played with 4 at the back yesterday...

Also to the person saying it's arteta fault about ozil.umm no it's not, it's someone From higher up mate.

Arteta played him a lot more than emery when arteta first joined yet after ozil refused a pay cut, that's when he got the chop.

Don't kid yourself if you think arteta omitted him From the team

Well he is isn't he, Arteta names the squad and Arteta picks the XI, if Ozil's name isn't there then it's because Arteta didn't include it.

If he is receiving instructions from above not to include Ozil then that undermines Arteta's position and it's still down to him to include Ozil or not.

Where have you heard that? Arteta said it was a footballing decision.

of course he would say that...

he is not going to **** off his boss!!!

explain to me why he played him a lot before the first lockdown then?

he played like 8 times under Arteta, is that a lot? Then lockdown happened, Ozil had a back injury so couldn't compete in the finish. Then he wasn't selected for the 25 man squad.

Where have you read or heard that its his boss thats telling him not to pick Ozil?

You do realise that makes no sense from a financial pov, right?

If Arteta believed he could get value from Ozil on the pitch, that would translate into more worth financially, instead, you have a player that hasn't played for nearly a year and no financial value. Sorry, but it was Arteta's decision. Your story makes far less sense i'm afraid. You're just making it up to create a scapegoat.

Claude from AFTV has died :( Nothing confirmed on cause of death but indications seem to be suicide

Awfully sad, thoroughly entertaining/passionate person there for the rise of popularity of football on youtube

I saw the news earlier :( I really hope it wasn't suicide but I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out to be the case. Iinm he previously spoke about attempting to kill himself on twitter. After he left AFTV I posted a before and after picture of him and you could see the guy falling apart in front of your eyes over the past few years. It would be a step too far to blame AFTV for this but the way Robbie wheeled him out as part of his freak show to be mocked and ridiculed certainly wouldn't have helped his mental health.

Is this guy who got booted out for making some politically incorrect comment?

I remember thinking maybe even posting on here people with mental health issues shouldn’t on programs like that. It’s unfair on all parties.

Sad news to hear.

I knew a contestant on big brother many years ago who had quite severe mental health issues before being selected for the show. No screening or questions asked in the quest for entertainment.

I can see what youre saying but at the same time that might be what kept him from getting even more ill.

As someone who was suicidal for a large part of last year sometimes that break away from reality, in his case football, can be that thing that keeps you sane.

It’s very sad, but tbh, I can’t say I’m that surprised. He always had lots of demons and I felt the football was the only thing that kept him going. Now he’s lost that for the last year, he was bound to struggle. Looks like the toxic cesspit that is social media, pushed him over the edge. Poor bloke. RIP

Robbie from AFTV basically threw the guy under the bus to protect his profits for his YouTube channel, now posting videos saying what a great genuine guy he was, sorry but it's really too little too late and blatant hypocrisy from him. No doubt if he didn't jump on the cancel culture bandwagon Claude would still be alive today.

He used a well known racist slur against Son. He hardly threw him under the bus.
