The New Cases Gallery

Didnt think this was to shabby for my 1st modded pc tho tbh

And the after math of an upgrade, i adopted an old emachine micro tower to fuel my modding madness (work in progress)

Changed to a Lian-Li PC-7FWB today from the P182

Lastly, other cases I have had in the past or seen with windows had had their window just screwed onto the panel, no flushness or nice edging on the glass - Lian Li made it a little more professional:

Great case all round tbh.

Awesome build mrk, i will be getting a new case in the next few months and both your lian-li's look nice.

But silverstone's FT01B-W is also tempting. Have to keep an eye on this thread before i decide.

Mrk i am disappointed how messy your case is for your standards, is the lilan li quieter than the p182?(going on a epic quest to get a very quiet pc on air.)

This Corsair PSU doesn't allow for tucking away as the modular cables are very stiff hence why it looks a bit messier :(

Noise wise they're both the same, an ambient hum and the noise of air and the PSU capacitors - I have had this PSU for years though so perhaps it's time I changed it for something with neater modular cables :p

I find the Corsair modular cables easy to work with due to been so thin so can tuck away behind the motherboard tray.

Thank you for the information.

No probs, I've had an idea TBH, Going to pull the flat strands on the modular cables apart and see how neat I can make it then!

Hmm Probably not the best idea t plug in the 3pin connector to mobo when the fan is being 7v modded :p

I wanted to see what rpm the 7v mod was running the front fan because with the fan connected normall it's 700rpm-800rpm (via voltage control off mobo header) and I molexed the 7v mod which has a loop to 3pin for speed sensing, I don't think speed sensing via 3pin works on 7v due to the loopback of the voltage toward the PSU as the PSU cut power to the whole system and it rebooted.

Glad I have a decent PSU as it could have been a fair bit worse :p

Update on Sunday shenanigans!

Actually I originally intended to get a new PSU anyway for nicer modular cables and less mess but the sheer volume of PSU brands available in store is huge and deciding on one was immensely difficult...Antec? OCZ? another Corsair? FSP?? Enermax?????? argh!

I chose the OCZ ModXtreme 600watt for £69, 25 amps on each 12v rail and a multitude of positive user comments on all shopping sites I read them on. Only minor was slightly shorter 12v 4pin mobo cable, shorter than the Corsair but it JUST about fit, no way would it have fit if I still had the Antec P182 I don't think because the Corsair had to be stretched to its limit round the side.

Anyway...I also picked up a Zalman Fanmate2 for the intake fan as on my mobo only one fan header (other than the CPU) can be voltage controlled from the OS and I wanted my 3rd fan slowed down to be less audible (I have super ears hah!).

All fans are now running 700-900rpm and are uber silent, before I could hear the front fan's ambient hum but now not so. A baby could sleep with the PC on. Definitely.

I envy your uber quiet pc i just need to swap out my last antec tri cool then my pc will be quiet maybe for another Noctua 800rpm.(doesn't push that much air.
