i4670k @ 3.4ghz
MSI Radeon R9 Gaming 290 @ 977/1250

Mantle
Min: 56.1, Max: 91.8, Avr: 66.8

DirectX
Min: 34.7, Max: 85.7, Avr: 60.7

My DX was higher than I thought it would be by some margin.

Your dx results are due to you having a good cpu. Check out your minimum fps and a 10 percent gain on your average is still nice on single card.

Thanks for doing the Bench thread :)

I think most of us with decent CPU's really want to see a good Mantle Crossfire performance benchmark seeing as it could not only increase due to less cpu required but the crossfire implementation could be a lot tighter.

Good testing Kaap and does show with a fast enough CPU that there is no ifference in this game. I can see how the older/slower CPUs can cope though, so all good :)

More than that.

3930K @ 5Ghz - DirectX FPS: Min 60.5
4930k @ 4.8Ghz - Mantle FPS: Min 61.3
4930k @ 4.8Ghz - DirectX FPS: Min 61.9
P-II x6 @ 4Ghz - Mantle FPS: Min 58.3
P-II x6 @ 4Ghz - DirectX FPS: Min 31.5

It's great to see my old AMD 6 core keeping up with Intel's finest. :)

Anyway. done.

That's sweet but you come unstuck if you play anything new other than Thief or BF4. Try Hitman bench or Sleeping Dogs or even Sniper Elite V2 to see how great that CPU is ;)

I don't have Hitman or Sleeping Dogs.

I do have Sniper Elite V2

18. Score 45.9 GPU 290P @1130/1550, CPU 2500k @4.0, SieB Link
19. Score 42.2 GPU 290P @1100/1400, CPU 1090T @4.1, humbug Link
20. Score 42.0 GPU 680 @1190/1800, CPU 3960X @4.9, Kaapstad Link
21. Score 38.0 GPU 7970 @1230/1660, CPU 3770k @4.8, wazza300 Link

The GPU never drops below 98%.

The CPU is actually a lot better than people realise, its faster than an i5 in FireStrike Physics test, Fire Strike uses Havok Physics which is properly threaded.

But i take your point. its not always good :)

0.2 fps faster than a 680 tells a different story.

your not stupid, and niether am i :) 7970 4 FPS slower than a 680 and its higher clocked. It obviously favours Nvidia.

If you click on SieB link its running at 1230Mhz (Kaap got it wrong), 130Mhz higher than mine and he's on an i5, he's 3.5 FPS higher than me.

I told you i have no bottlenecking, and the scores bare that out.
