The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

I installed MoDaCo Custom Froyo ROM Alpha3-4 (based on new Chinese leak) but when the display turns off (i.e put phone to ear or when it times out to save battery) it never comes back. Only thing I can do is take the battery out.

Anyone had the same problem? Might go back to stock rom for now.

Orange have already said that the San Francisco will never get an official build above Eclair. If you want to try Froyo or Gingerbread then it's going to have to be an unofficial build.
I didn't mean orange,I was referring to ZTE.

Just put the Alpha 3 build on to mine and haven't come across that problem yet. So far everything has gone quite smoothly. Now just to customise it and start putting apps on.

I had that problem when i first flashed a rom onto this phone, but that turned out to be because i flashed an OLED only ROM onto a TFT phone.

After that i flashed modaco Froyo Alpha 3 onto my phone and it was fine, so no idea why your getting that problem:confused:

I have the TFT version, but that rom is stated to work with both types. Weird, driving me nuts.

Had it once...but I could get the screen up atleast, just couldnt do anything with it?

Have you restarted several times since flashing?

And what version of clockwork did you use? 2.5.0.9 is supposed to be the best with that ROM I think

I used 2.5.1.3 so might try again with the earlier version. Currently running de-oranged 2.1 rom and it's really nice so far compared to the stock.

I restarted a few times (kinda) it was mainly taking the battery out and turning it back on. Cleared cache and restored to factory settings a bit too. Didn't work.

I had the same problem when i used clockwork 2.5.1.3. I switched to 2.5.0.9 and it worked fine and screen all ways comes back on.

I've found some stock of the OLED screens. Is the B05 version worth an extra £20 over the TFT?

Both local Orange stores want £99 plus a £20 top up. I've told them its only a £10 on line plus i'd get £12 cash back via quidco but they don't seem to care.

Yes its worth the extra.

The OLED San Fransisco uses a PenTile OLED display which leads to small text being fuzzy as well as OLED being rather susceptible to screen burn, so for me no i wouldn't pay extra for one.

I'm fuzz free here and after having both side by side the oled screen is so much nicer. For 20 quid I would go for it definitely.
