Its a fact the Ultra will run more FPS for longer than a GTX, before it needs retired, I hope you get 25FPS in Crysis and I get 35FPS LOL

But everyone who has a GTX core can probally hit 650 so thier onlt about 30mhz what ultra people can do. They can also hit 2000mhz on the ram. So basically the ultras are getting 1-2fps more which is not worth it.

I dont get what you mean by "before it needs retired" , They both have the potential to last as long as each other, and if you mean, by fps getting lower in games, then that should not happen at all, its usually bugs in games that cause that, or atm NV driver issues.

You think I am jelous of someone who owns an 8800Ultra , deffenitly not, they are not worth the money, the extra fps you get from a Ultra does not compensate for the price difference.

I dont think I will even get 25fps in Crysis DX10, but come on, if I spent the money on the Ultra, I would be expecting more than 35fps in a game, you should have got a cheaper card (GTX), and waited for the 9800GTX, you know your DX10 experience with that Ultra wont be the best.

Tales of the Ultra being vastly overpriced go back to the time of their release and is not true today. If I shop around I can find an Ultra clocked at 15%+ higher than a stock GTX for not much more than 15% higher than the price of the GTX. Given the law of diminishing returns, the Ultra isn't actually bad value compared to the GTX. I'm aware the GTX will overclock, to which I'll respond that nothing is guaranteed and that the Ultra will do the same.

Really, thats funny cause my Ultra is 655/2250 stock and runs 700/2400 with no mods, easily worth 10-30FPS I would guess dependant on game.

Also I did not pay anywhere near the full price for my Ultra (lets just say not far under £100 off it), and the GTX was out ages so I thought why not buy it and step up in 90days.

I still stand by fact when Crysis hits and if there aint a new Nvidia card, the Ultra is going to get higher FPS than the GTX, more so the Superclocked Ultras, and again even a 10FPS diff could make a game play smooth or lag, ideally the FPS gain should be more though, so IMO I did not buy wrong card.

Face it, the chances of that happening are close to 0. The ultra is not amazing feat over gtx, just a pre overclocked one with more refined parts.

It was a joke again, where is your humour ?, the faster Ram may help, no GTX has 0.8ns and ok now we are told some other 8800's have Rev3 cores, still any card range with more speed over another gains FPS, every 1FPS matters in a game that your going to get low FPS in anyhow.

Normal fast moving FPS type game 30FPS is just playable, 25FPS laggy (ok for Oblivion).

Crysis aint till Nov 2007 so I may have stepped up to new card by then if out.

I Bought my Ultra at lower price of any GTX OC (yep, true fact, check newegg). So Im happy with my 650/2300 at stock (MSI-OC).... by the way try to OC a GTX to 2300 of mem???? dont think so....

About the 9800GTX... let see... It will be PCI-e 2.0, so that means I need to change the following: Motherboard (need new pcie2 port, and ddr3 to be at good range), memory to DDr3 (yep they are damn expensive), PSU (should consume a lot and it should need those PCI-e2 connector of 8pins) and the video card Itselft... so that means a lot of expenses.... so No Thanks... I'll be fine with my Ultra until I have enough money to buy all those things.. because I dont see the point of having a Superb grafic card 2008 and the rest of my PC with 2007 parts LOL!!!!!

You wont need a new motherboard for PCI-e 2.0, PCI-e 2.0 will mean you need less connectors. It will probally be the same power as the 2900xt not a huge amount.

Any PCI-E2 card will be able to go into a PCI-E slot, and the PCI-E2 slots will support PCI-E graphics cards, also there will probably be X38 motherboards with both DDR2 and DDR3 support. Power supplies aren't expensive anyway.

It means you can have a new GPU due soon but keep your mobo for now, there is no 1 GPU that needs the bandwidth of PCI-E 2.0 for now, probably SLI still wont saturate it.

Obv in late 2007 if your buying a mobo you buy a PCI-E 2.0 varient, its good its backwards compatible anyhow for end users.

You don't choose to buy PCIE-2 you have to, and I don't think the PCIE-2 socket is supposed to give extra performance, could be wrong but I thought it was to supply more power to the card.

Give extra power upto 150watts, I read the new top GPU's will only have 1 PCI-E socket but that cant be as on older PCI-E mobos the socket wont have enough power so cards will still need 2 PCI-E sockets.
