Compared to the standard hair modelling in this game (check any scene with other characters in it), it's excellent.

If you're finding it impacts performance too much for you, then I guess you can just turn it off seeing as it doesn't look very good to you anyway.

Oh, so you can tell us all about how you think it looks 'dodgy/iffy' but I can't say that I think it looks pretty good because it's not what you're asking? Ok then...

Why does it kill fps so much? I don't know, perhaps you should ask AMD and get them to explain the tech in detail?

It's only featured in this game so far, so it's all we have to go on.

I believe they're working on TressFX 2, which may be less resource heavy due to the way they can lower detail at distance instead of rendering individual strands amongst other things. It might also allow more than one onscreen character to have fancy hair too.

Have you tried looking for information on it? When I said perhaps you should ask AMD for info, I wasn't taking the ****. Who better to answer your question than those who made it?

Fair enough :)
I'm sure there have been a few threads/posts with info about it. God knows where though.

I look at it a bit like physx giving an fps hit when enabled. To the same/similar degree? I dunno :D

Hopefully, it'll give less of a hit in the next iteration. Being open to all vendors will also hopefully see it in more future titles too, with more applications than just hair.

Any tutorials please

Sign up to imgur.
Run the benchmark and take a screenshot of your score by pressing F12.
When you exit the game, you'll see a box pop up with your screenshots. Press 'show on disk'.
Now drag that pic into the imgur window and let it upload.
Click the pic when it's uploaded and copy the 'bb code' link and paste it into a post you make here (use spoiler tags here please).

They're on water.
I guess your cpu @4.6 is roughly the same or very close to mine @5.0, but I'd still have thought the GPU clock difference would add up to more than 0.4fps though :D

Have you got any room for more on the core?

Can't get my vram higher than 1625 sadly, though I've only bothered to try 1650 really. Not sure it makes any real difference tbh.
