The next Labour leader thread

Yeah and it's people like you who get the government they deserve.

Uh, no its people voting obliviously for the same party for decades, people who dont see anything wrong with the Two-Party system...

I hold no allegiance, and dont care what government i get at this juncture as they are one and the same (Blue Elite/Red Elite).

Chris Bryant is a snake. He'll never be the first to put his neck on the line. Wait's until it looks like he's backing the wrong horse, then jumps ship like a rat on fire.

God I wish he would just bugger off and leave us to start sorting things out. He's shown his true colours and he's just as bad as the rest.

Why will he go, he is pretty much untouchable.

He has the support of the membership, unless a better candidate can be found. That was my point. Quite simply, if the PLP want him gone then they need to find someone else that members will get behind.

I don't have anyone in mind. TBH I'm not sure there is such a candidate. But if that person can be found, Corbyn might go.

Labour voters backed Remain 2:1 and an even higher margin among Corbyn supporting members. The idea that he could have gained support by going against what most Labour voters, and even more Labour members, wanted is utterly bizarre.

I was thinking about all the former labour voters that voted leave because they feel disenfranchised with politics in general. Corbyn could have supported leave, then when they won, he would be seen as a victor and a statesman by the party, and he would have won over all the voters that have been lost in the last couple of decades. He would also have been respected as a man of principle, as he could have pointed to his long record of EU opposition.

Ahh well, its all academic now.

Wow. That resignation letter is powerful stuff.

I hope it wasn't Chris that put it in the public eye though. That's not cricket.
