The Night Manager

I watched it through recently, over a couple of weeks, and thought it was average in every way. Story, characters and acting. I thought Hiddlestone was terrible and no know why he wasnt even nominated for an award for this show...i recall a big hoo-ha in the papers about it.

I lost count the number of times there would be an attempt at interaction by Laurie's character, and Tom would just smirk/smile/huff back at him. Was ridiculous. SAY SOMETHING INTERESTING!! He couldn't though, as the character was boring and empty. The trust Laurie's character put in to Tom's was just unbelievable too, made little sense.

Massive disappointment. 3/10...maybe.

From memory though it ended at a natural point. Is it book based, follow up books?

If Hugh Laurie isn't in it, then it won't follow on. Can't remember the exact details of how the TV series ended, but I've just finished the book. It is quite different as most books to TV are, and it wouldn't make much sense to have Hugh Laurie in again as I'm sure he was aware of what went on with Pine (Hiddlestone) in the 2017 series.

Ooh great news. The Night Manager was excellent.

Did anyone watch Little Drummer Girl? I can't remember if it was a sequel, or in the same universe or something. But I read the book and it totally put me off, it was very dull :p But Florence Pugh, Alexander Skarsgard and Park Chan Wook...
