****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

Got my NN3DS XL Black yesterday along with a charger and dock. The is nice although sometimes I will also want to play while its about to run out of charge. Downloaded MM from eShop directly, although I think I should have just preordered the MM pack in the first place as you get the design to go along with it! My reason for leaving it late was because I still wasn't sure if I wanted the standard or XL version. Anyways, I'm happy with the XL version. Smash Bros is a bit more enjoyable on the bigger screen now.

I quite like the C-stick. Seems to work pretty well in MM.

Thoughts so far, im glad I bought it and gave my old 3ds to my brother. Screen looks very good and xl is a good size. 3d is still no good for me, I can put it down very low but id rather have the better picture and also better battery life.
Battery life doesn't seem too bad, its got 4 bars and already one has gone down with me being on it for about 30 minutes. So that might work out to about 2 hours, surely not???
Fire emblem with no 3d on looks great and the bigger screen is ideal for this game. Also the jaggies aint bad at all.

bakes from a full charge it'll stay on the full 4 bars for quite a long time, then count down the others a bit faster in my experience, the battery life has been quite good for me. (I've been on the N3DS instead of XL so far so can only imagine XL is better)

I think I made a mistake there in terms of battery, I have since read that I should have fully charged the n3DS before powering it on, but I actually plugged it in, did the transfer with it plugged in, and then let the Mrs play Animal Crossing for a while unplugged.

When I realised this was the advise, I got it off the Mrs, powered the machine completely down and have had it on to fully charge. Do you think this will really affect the battery life, having not fully charged it?

I can't imagine it will effect it at all, I didn't full charge my N3DS before doing system transfer, and leave it on standby when I do, should only effect it for that single charge I imagine?

(Could be talking out my arse but I've never done that with any of mine and they've been fine)

I got my Majoras Mask edition 3DS XL this morning and I'm really impressed with the screen. The viewing angles on it are pretty good and the sound seems better but maybe I'm imagining that. I've not really used the 2nd analogue stick much but it seems OK.

The transfer process from my old 3DS XL was easy enough, not sure why people said it was hard and it didn't take long at all.

So as I feel the urge to catch up on some games can anyone recommend some good games from the past 12 months? I'm not interested in anything Mario, Pokemon and I have all the Zelda games. I played Castlevania last night and liked that so something along that line or adventure/action would be good :)

Inazuma Eleven GO

Not for everyone, based on an anime but was good fun with a decent story and pretty fun gameplay which is sometimes scripted but the football is fun

Would be better off buying the physical game anyway. I'm sure the eshop version is £10 more than retail.

yea was just tempted as download was like £32 on Game, went to town and picked it up! best option really as i may not enjoy it and can sell for majoras mask later :) hopefully it will hook me though

I like anime but hate football so looking at the videos I guess this one isn't for me :(

I know you're not Mario fan, but what about Luigi's Mansion. Ghostbusters meets Mario(Luigi) basically? :)
Also Bravely Default was this year no, or Tales of Abyss although I think that was 2013 (RPGs not adventure/action though)

Alternatively perhaps look at some of the Metroid titles available on the e-shop, realise not 3DS really, but still good games if you've not played them :)

Also heard good things about Fantasy Life (RPG/Sim/Adventure cross I think)

Monster Hunter 4 may also be worth a look as that's an RPG/Action game with more focus on the hunting/tracking/fighting and collecting gear if MH3 is anything to go by than RPG.

Fair enough.

To be honest its not like you're really playing football, its just a fun little game with RNG on the touch screen and really I was just playing through it to get to the next bits in the story and stuff, just a bit more of an obscure recommendation.

Seen Fantasy Life? Kinda like Harvest Moon/AC/Rune Factory, lots of crafting, combat and customising your house and stuff, quite fun and has online MP

Ace Attorney games, visual novel/puzzle detective game.

So lost on MM, no idea what order I'm supposed to do anything. Don't understand when It decides you get to keep items either.

Not only did they send the Chargers separately, they sent one Royal Mail and another my Hermes which arrived today. Quite incredible logistics. Yet I got the one with my n3ds in the same box. The Majoras mask editions were the culprits for missing chargers.

My copy of Majora's Mask STILL hasn't arrived today, so I called GAME up this evening and they apologised and have advised me that as it still hasn't arrived they are going to treat it as lost. They gave me the option of either redispatching the game, or waiting until Monday when I could request a full refund.

As I still want the game, I've asked for them to redispatch so they can get it out to me ASAP, and hopefully it'll arrive Tues/Weds. Not sure I'll get my preorder bonus now though :(

Still, will see what happens! At least the Mrs is enjoying Animal Crossing...

Ok this just made the hairs on my back stick up....

Just watched a video of Twinbee on the ninty shop (3d).

I actually found myself saying. WOW the 3D effect is so kick ass, especially in a game that is 30 years old!
