****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

possibly cropped up somewhere in this thread but ill ask anyway :)
just got the new nintendo 3ds xl (first nintendo gameboy etc since the original one) and im finding it hard to keep a grip on the thumbstick, its like my thumb keeps slipping off it.
so instead of having my thumb on it, i am sort of having to move it using the edge of the thumbstick as grip..
surely that isnt correct?

I'd say use it in any way which you feel comfortable! If you don't like using the edge of the stick as a grip, put your thumb in the depression on top.

White old 3DS is £59 on tesco direct

I've been so tempted by this all day. I'm just a bit concerned about it not being the latest model. Will that affect much at all? The screen size also seems really small to me but I can't visualize how big it actually is!

I like the screen size for this 3DS, the screen resolution is pixel perfect when compared to the XL screen which introduced jaggies :(

The only downsides to the smaller/older 3DS IMO:

  • Size of your hands, bigger hands may suffer from cramp
  • Older/slower CPU
  • Doesn't have the adaptive 3D, so you need to find the sweetspot when holding/viewing the console
  • Extra buttons

But still £59 is a bargain

Picked up a new 3DS today, but does anyone know somewhere selling shells / armour for them? Just wanting a clear hard case so can still see the faceplates. Ebay surprisingly has none! Just the new XL model, and obviously the old systems.

Anyone returned anything to Amazon France before? They're temporarily not selling the black 3DS XL but there's a second hand one which says the packaging is damaged. I'm wondering if that means if I find the box to be in unacceptable condition, I could easily return it to them. I know it's absolutely painless to return to Amazon UK.

I got a 3ds from Tesco today for my lads birthday, he'll be turning 4. No idea if he's to young for it so may end up giving him it at a later date and getting something else. Anyone had any young kids playing on them? Any suitable games?
Probs get Zelda for myown amusement.

I imagine Super Mario 3D Land or new Super Mario Brothers will be exactly what he'd like.

I have this problem also, thinking about ordering these,

You can get them for about £12 shipped from japan via ebay, the one on the top right looks like it would be heaven playing games using that.

I got my little boy a 2DS last Saturday for his 4th birthday! He absolutely loves it and especially the Batman Lego game I got with it too. He loves it so much his mum has given me stick as she can't get him off it most of the time haha. I think your little lad will love it :D

My 5 and 10 year old girls have a DS and a 3DS - they're Nintendo nuts the pair of them - they have had to be banned from playing till homework is done and tea eaten.

The younger one shouted "look it's Luigi" today when we drove past a moped rider in a green tracksuit with "L" plates on.

Nintendogs MK Super Mario Bros Mario Party their favourites.
