I'm looking into maybe picking up a 3DS.

What are some good online games for the system?
The one's that come to the top of my head are, Pokemon, Mario Kart & Animal Crossing

I'm just on the verge of importing a US 3DS XL. I know you can use an EU charger with no problems but will my online play be affected at all in anyway and US eShop demos will be accessible for me? I'm assuming it will be OK.

Anybody have any experience with importing?

Any do's and dont's?

Online play will be not be effected, except for games where the mp is region locked (Mario Tennis for example), where you will end up having to play against US players.

Download play (single cart multiplayer) won't work between different region 3ds.

US 3ds will access the US eshop, so no problem there. Buying stuff is probably the only issue, you'll have to track down eshop cards, as foreign credit card won't work on US shop. I think if you change region to Canada they do, but not 100% sure there and you can't jump back and forth. Once you make the nnid (for shop access) you are stuck with whatever region you picked.

Thanks a lot! :)

Buying stuff is not a problem. Importing physical carts is really cheap and eShop credit is £11.90 for $20 and therefore ~£24 for a new full release. Was really put of by EU prices - £45 for EO4!! I can get it for £20 delivered. And I also like atlus games and want to play Persona Q when it comes out this year. Might even take SMT IV as my first game instead of FE.

I can swap between US and Canada as they are the same region. Canada takes foreign currency.
