Just sampled a bit of home brew now the fermenting has finished. The cider is drinkable but it'll need a bit of sweetening. The perry, well I'm not sure about that yet!
A very drinkable beer. Not very complex and some may say it lacks flavour but I think it would be a great session beer if it weren't so damn hard to find!
Justin, can you recommend a decent red for around 25 quid, I'm poor atm, ready to drink now? For a present, he knows his wine. Unfortunately I've forgotten his favourites. But he foes love rijoa inparticular and beaujolais.
Also, if you could one for 50 quid or so.
Thanks
~£25, you can get an excellent Rioja. If you know he likes that it's best to stick to that. I very highly recommend a 2001 Viña Arana Reserva. You can get it from Berry Bros but Waitrose also sell it. 2001 is an excellent vintage and this Rioja is at its best right now. It's around £21. http://www.bbr.com/product-72978B-2001-vina-arana-reserva-la-rioja-alta?list_tab_F=RI
Cheers for that. It's the same person, just a different budget. It's hid birthday and a house warming gift.
Will check out that bottle next time I'm at a computer, on phone atm but respect your opinion.
Re. Rioja, I'm actually going there in July with him. Happy to bring back a bottle or two at cost price, we are drivn down so plenty of room.
