The **Now Drinking** Thread

It's been a long week and my mate just messaged me saying he's at the Johnnie Walker bar in Edinburgh which reminded me I had this little gem in the cupboard

Drinking a glass of Slyrs from a bottle I picked up because my brother was visiting last weekend and I thought some German whisky appropriate. It's kinda disappointing: not bad, just uninteresting - smooth but no character. Like a whiskey which had all the interesting bits sanded off.

If you lived in my house you'd drink too.

I rarely drink but had a glass of special reserve whiskey last night and right now I fancy a bit of red wine so I'm going to open this inexpensive bottle of plonk. Alc12% so that's pretty good.

Having a nice bottle of St Austell brewery Mena Dhu stout tonight, quite enjoy it. Bit of a smokey taste too which I enjoy. Going to follow it up with McEwans champion which is one of my favourite easily available strong ales.

I'm of the view that Christmas doesn't really end until after my Birthday, so a glass of Chablis with lunch it is:

Completely agree, only problem is my birthday isn’t until March!

Works best for people with Birthdays in December, I think :D

Happy birthday

Thank you, although it isn't for a few days yet. This is mostly a point of contention in our household because my wife is keen to start a healthy eating kit after the Christmas/NYE excess and I'm having absolutely none of it :)
