The **Now Drinking** Thread

Moving on to wine shortly.

I do have an obsession with Leffe at the moment though.

Nowt wrong with that. Leffe is the perfect staple of Belgian beer, when there's nothing else around. I was in Bruges last week and I must have found the one bar in the whole of the city than only served Leffe and Jupiler. It was all good though.

What is your thoughts on Duval? Wen't into Sainsburys earlier with thoughts of getting some Crabbies Ginger beer but no luck, was a tad gutted, then I saw these 75cl bottles of Lefffe and all was good with the universe.

Duvel is one of my 'top three' Belgian staples which are easy to get hold of [Chimay White being the other]. It's stronger than Leffe and will get you mashed quicker, though highly enjoyable. 'Duvel' doesn't mean 'devil' for nothing.

On the red wine now, specifically Shiraz/Carménère/Cabernet.

Weird mix. Little initial hit but lots of mid-range and finish. The last drink I shall have in this flat. It's been fun.

Good speakers! Mine have done me well for years, paired with an X-Fi. They can go bloody loud, and at good quality.

I've started earlier than usual. Currently on the Moretti - probably my favourite beer on draught having overtaken Staropramen. Am currently in the Curzon bar in Soho - no decent films on tonight so just on the netbook instead.

RD is drier than the normal Bolly, think crisp apples with a creaminess. It's my favourite bubbly :) Yum!

(the reason is that I have been offered a contract, thus as I've been bumming around since May on my own money.. time to makes some!)

You and I are pretty much in the same boat then. I have nothing to do till April - though I should really find myself a new job before then.

Oh, and in relation to the thread, pint of San Miguel in a pub off Warren Street, listening to some quality 80s/90s thrash.

Congratulations! Wow, how does it feel?!

EDIT - well, seeing as you're 50, and this may not be up your street at all, but I dedicate the song I'm listening to at the moment to you!

Enjoy [or not] - it starts at 1:20:
