The **Now Drinking** Thread

Any champagne experts on here tonight?

we uncovered a load of the stuff hidden around our house, some of which was obviously expensive and some was supermarket own-brand.

I've brought back to uni with me a bottle of 'specially selected by asda 2000 vintage champagne - brut' which on the bottle reads the usual storage information but also 'perfect now, but will keep for up to 12 months...'
What is that meant to mean? There is no use-by date, no date of when it was bottled etc etc.

I know nothing about Champagne, and my head says shut up and drink it; my heart asks 'will I die if I do?' What's the crack then? is it okay to drink tomorrow?

It has tiny little particles in the bottle which begin to float when distrubed. I'm guessing this is just cork?

cheers,

p.s Now drinking:
vimto :(

heh, i've just scoffed a pack of mackie's flamegrilled aberdeen angus along with the stella i'm drinking.

Aye, they are good crisps also. Always eat the whole bag if ive got a beer with it :D

Stolli and coke again, and the mackies scotch bonnet crisps are way nicer!

Not tried them, asda dont have them as far as im aware. Shame because they sound good :)

Own brand whiskey....dodgy.

Yeah the black grouse is a nice take and makes a change.

Tea, got a 2 day hangover which is murdering me. I smelt some of the Absinthe I brought back from Prague and almost threw up all over my living room...
Hogmany tonight could be interesting...

just picked up most of this lot today :)
starting with Midori + lemonade.

reccomendations for mixes / coctails welcome!
oh, and if anyone would care to chime in to my post a few up from this one about the champagne it would be very helpful (champagne is in the picture on the left)

Few Tiger beers here

Shame alcohol is so expensive here compared to everything else. Works out around £15 for 8 x 500ml cans :(

Aye, but 20 Reg Kingsize isn't nearly 7 quid I bet! (Pleased I quit!)

Got 135 bottles of San Miguel, 60 Becks and 5 x 5L draughtkegs of Heineken. Should make a nice aperitif :D

Happy New Year all, have a good one :)
