Ferret and Tanglefoot are ok, but for me Bishops Finger is the tops.
(Got 6 bottles here waiting to be attacked. Not all at once though.)

Had the Ferret yesterday and I must agree. It was nothing special but not bad to be honest! Beats a crappy lager!

Really am starting to enjoy ale, not drinking it in huge amounts but getting much more pleasure out of it.

Think I may just stick with it for now! Screw lager.

Is the best way to drink ale to have it cold, but not really cold/chilled? So putting a bottle in the fridge about 45 mins to an hour before drinking.

I wouldn't waste Tanglefoot on a pie, better the use the Original.

I do like my Badger brewery ales, although, I don't drink them as often as I'd like. A really nice one is Blandford Fly, it has a ginger taste to it, very refreshing, especially in those summer months.

The pie will taste better for it. If you wouldn't drink it, don't use it for cooking

The "Fly", for me, is superb, I recommend it to peeps here all the time.

I've got two large measures of whisky in front of me, courtesy of a colleague who I showed how to work his new camera.

The Balvenie 12 year old, and also some Chapter 9 from the English Whisky Co. (which I picked up for him when I was in Norfolk last summer). I can't taste them though, as I have a terrible cold.

I think I prefer the Chapter 9 though. Lovely and smokey lingering aftertaste (well what I can make of it anyway!).

/edit:

Yep, the Chapter 9 is lovely stuff, and I'm not a big whisky drinker (yet!).
