The **Now Eating** Thread

No pic, but tonight's meal was little Patagonian scallops and home-made pesto with pasta.

I am a recent convert to the humble scallop and feel like I've been missing out for many a year. Caramelised and seasoned, delicious.

Chicken Jalfrezi and Rice with Saag Aloo.

lovely, i do love a kebab, they have such a poor image in this country, but look at that plate, whats bad, unhealthy etc about that.
its like the only possible kebab to the uk is the worst of the late knight fast food places.

need to start making more of them. really wish I had an indoor grill. like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Gagg...m=112962839979&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850
and a good extractor fan, although saying that i have no idea if they are actually any good.

To be fair, that's probably 1,000 cals on that plate. Very filling though, doubt I'll be having breakfast/lunch tomorrow lol.

I just used the grill on my cooker but I've seen people use these with good results: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/1519...id=229508&lgeo=1&item=151967883984&rmvSB=true

250 for the flat breads, 500 for the lamb, 100 for dressings, 100 for the salad, pickles = 950.

Edit: I still don't think it's unhealthy by any means, just saying don't eat that every day and expect to lose weight.

250 for the flat breads, 500 for the lamb,
what is in the flat breads then - butter soaked ?

that reminds me of
I had to laugh recently Tom Kerridges low calorie kebab recipe - maybe they are nice, but even at 650Calories - maybe that is diet food in his parallel universe

It's bread, bread is high in cals. A slice of thick Hovis is 120-130. I just looked and they are 114 each, so 228 for two.
ok .. that explain kerridges use of corn tortillas
The same size corn tortilla provides less than 70 calories and about 85 percent of the calories come from carbohydrates. Total calories in flour tortillas are greater, since flour tortillas have more protein and fat.
