The **Now Eating** Thread

It’s an abomination is what it is.

Do you not like proper gravy.
Yes of course, but I don’t think you understand, this isn’t something I cobbled to gather, this is a famous London dish that’s been going since the Victorian age. You dont have gravy with it, you have liquor

There was me thinking you couldn’t make gravy :D I understand now. :)

Traditionally the liquor contained the water from the boiled eels. That would have made you turn your noses up even more :D

I didn’t even like it when it was made with eel water, the fishy taste was just wrong. Potato water much better. You've got to have plenty of chilli vinegar too.

Chutney or lime pickle? Pickle all the way for me, love the stuff. Chutneys actually third on my list, beaten by both pickle and raita

I'm quite easy for all of them tbh and will be enjoying many at a food & drink festival on the 25th this month that has (Pre COVID) seen many traders serving all of these and more.

I and my BL were both banned from eating Hot Lime Pickle from Patak's many years ago on a camping holiday...I'll leave it to the imagination as to why
